Geez, manual for the Yamaha HS80m's recommends 5ft / 1.5 meters from the wall. Standard I've seen elsewhere is just a foot or two.
I'd be lucky to get 2-3.5ft if that away |

yeah, manuals for monitors (yes, monitors have manuals too, but people who buy them often too busy with setting them asap and start listening) have recommendations about proper monitor placement

J/K. Quite a difference though! managed to shift all my furniture around and get away from the wall more |

haha nice bro! Yeah I'm gonna do the same when I get home too - my desk is too big so I have to put the speakers in corners of the room. Might have to pull out the saw dunno how the mdf will survive though! And look into getting bass traps..
