Hello Brudaz n Sistaz ...
Q: Is is advisable to have your sound monitors on the same platform as your perpherials like midi, keyboard, input hub, monitor screen etc? Or should they be elevated or on a separate platform which must be damped to muffle the vibrations? Will this in any way cause damage to my setup?

Hey!
It won't cause any damage(ever thought of the vibrations on a big festival/in a club?), but who wants to have a vibrating desk?(maybe some girls for the good feeling....) Simply use some spikes, available in any hifi-shop... |

my short comments on monitor placement:
1) put them upright
2) put them on such height that the hi-frequency speaker is on your ear's height (put something soft below them if you want to 'isolate' them from your table)
3) make your sitting spot and the two speakers a triangle with 60 degrees angles
here is some longer notes: (google search first hit for "monitor placement")

best wishes!
