Genelec, Dynaudio, Mackie, KrK, Quested, Event ...
Those are the best and Tannoy too .
This discussion about "what the best monitors" and
"what the best vst" are so interesting . . .
again and again , everytime . . .

Mackie is very good, but expencive. Dynaudio Aucoustics has some cheaper, and some more expensive. Dynaudio is very very good, i use a pair of BM6 myself and i am vey satisfied.

For home-studio there is a very cheap alternative, and that is Alesis Monitor One. They are really cheap these days, and actually very good if you are doing some home-production.           Zimbah (Ratata-taaa)

Further question:
Do you think that the Event PS 6 are enough to get professional ?

I have Event 20*20p and I can say I had a very nice time with them ( I have them for three years now.. ) they have their good sides and their bad sides. The major one is that they colour the sound in a certain way ( I still cant decide if they raise the high end or make the mid / low mid less significant ) but it shows on final mix.

I believe that in the closest range of time I will move to Dynaudio

They are nice monitors tho

Oh and the PS6 ( I agree with SuperGlue ) are too small for making sound seriously

From many ppl I find that Event real serious line was the 20/20. Project Studio monitors were not quiet enough.

Another thing I heard about Tannoy Reveal, found to be pretty much flat - though not reaching high ends like close to 15kh.

I have the KRK v6 and I can say that these don't reach the bottom like I want them. Hard to seperate differnt low freqs. Besides that they sure sound great - warm.

Dynaudio is something I'd like to move on to myself. prolly the bm6a or wishingly the air6.

Mackies said to be very good. and the Genelecs said to miss something in the bottom also. All 8" LF drivers. Though they surely fall into one of the best monitors - I still stand with the Dynaudio

if u work with V6 and u have some problem with
the bottom, the problem is defenetly not in the
speakers, maybe room accoustics or something . . .

C3po - u might be right - but then again - I might be right

I checked out different positions... though it is in the corner - boost up to 6dB - dunno if I can get it better.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

OK, I'm not understanding some things here (i feel lost):

What is a monitor? Is it something like a speaker? I'm confused, because in portuguese monitor = screen of the computer ( these 15' flat screen).
Thanks.

Hey everyone. I was looking at getting some new speakers/monitors and saw these lil' things http://www.edirol.com/products/info/ma10d.html
I'm 16, using Fruityloops, and pretty much broke Will these fit my needs? Is Edirol a decent brand? I dunno, I just want some speakers that are better than my Yamaha computer ones I have at the moment.
Oh yeah, BTW the room I have my "studio" in is really small if that affects anything. Thanks for all your help ^_^
