hello friends,im on my way to india,i was wondering wats a good amount of cash should i bring with me to stay for a month or two? |

depends how good you want to live really  , no seriously , depends on how much you wish to travel , it is a biggish country so that's where the bulk of your expenses will go , living / food is relatively cheap , so a month in India , traveling both the north and south .. carry a 100k in local currency and you should be fairly comfortable i guess .. that's about 2,000 $ usd ..

if using a foreign bank account u will get nailed with bank'charges' to use your atm card in india... better carry cash, travellers cheques and keep atm for emergencies...
certain eurpoean banks charge 1000/2000 rupees per transaction regardless of the amount you withdraw..

I guess hundred thousand to hundred fifty thousand (INR) will be good enf fr decent stay...
aprox US$ 2000-2500

100k to travel in india for 2 months ? flying business class and staying in 4 star hotels or what ?
It all depends on where you want to go and what you want to see. If you want to go along the coast, you can get your train tickets for a few hundred rupees, and your food and accomodation for not much more.
The prices in the lonely planet arent too bad actually. |

scroll down the list of words that begin with 'tra', and find a tra-vel forum, not one for tra-nce.
alternately, i think there is now a travel section/thread somewhere here that i once allowed in a generous moment. use the search!
