I am going to BurningMAn for the first time this year, and am inordinately excited.

Who has played at burningman in years past?
I have heard stories of:

X-Dream
Yahel
Simon Posford
Kode IV
Goa Gil

who else? how was it?

I have gone the last 3 years, and unfortunatly have seen psy trance decline.. Last year it was almost non-existant. my friends who saw X-Dream there say it was absolutely unforgettable.           -xo Truffle Radio ox-

I was blessed to play under a beautiful full moon on the Love Projectors SS + many more psy trance fluoronauts from SF and the rest of the world on 2001 The rest of the journey through the city was.... a journey in the full sense of the word. I saw plenty of angels and plenty of devils on my way through the waterless sandy freak covered land. I just could not stop smiling and have a constant feeling of joy. Then after hours of walking and meeting ppl and constantly being amazed, I would come back to the psy trance neighbourhood. Could life get better than that he he

I remember dancing to Psy Trance at night at the Sol System one of the early nights. But then the music changed, and the Community Trance stage had an awful sound system and it shut down like on Thursday or Wednesday. Magic glasses had non-stop Psy Trance...but they only had a set of those Mackie Speakers... and it just wasn't loud enough for my tastes. I just remember in years past that Stingray stage had nonstop Psy Trance on an amazing sound system, and the year before that there was a Tonka sound system way on the edge o f the playa, that was incredible too... I'm not complaining just giving my observations, cause I had a great time I'm hoping there will be some areas that focus on the Progressive side, as my tastes seem to be moving in that direction.           -xo Truffle Radio ox-

last year, the big camp that hosted Alex Grey and Rob Brezny, the Real Astrology guy, had a big party on Sat. night, with a massive lazer show and all. There was a big crowd of beautifully decked-out folks dancing. The DJ was this old guy with a mane of snow-white hair like Saruman's, in a magician's robe, with amulets and precious stones hanging from his neck, reflecting the lazers. Trippy looking dude.

The music wasn't psytrance, but still it was really good - sexy and psychedelic, melodic house, around 125-130 bpm. I walked over to the DJ, and watched him for a minute. At first I wanted to ask him what he was playing, but after a minute or two it dawned on me. It was the Logic Bomb track from the the 13 Crystal Skulls, pitch set at -20. The next track was, I think, a Hallucinogen one, then some Alien Project, and so on until I left.

The community trance stage was suposed to have a good sound system last year, In fact it was an awsome sound system as i have danced before it many a time at many a large party. That sound system once got the cops called on us from a neighbor over 7 miles away.
Unfortunatley things happen on the playa and when the custom built drivers in the bins blow, well what are you going to do.
Thank god for self-powerd Mackies

and ya 99 was pretty epic with the community dance and many artists which have been mentioned...since then its never hit critical mass again tho,..ive heard great music at various points just not the whole time in 99 it felt like a trance fest..which is why bman org wasnt too happy,,

either way its always an experience..

Anyone there in '97? That's when I first went, and had my first experience dancing all night till dawn (no drugs) to what I would a couple years later learn was psytrance.
