I did not say they didn't work. I said you will not get 100% out of them if they're not researched correctly to ensure they will, and that one way to ensure they will is to use the same brand. You are incorrect about your Harvestman module, as I also confirmed this information with Scott Jaeger himself.

Secondly, you posted to provoke a response from me which you knew would be defensive. Do not chide me like a child you little fuck. Go back to what your good at, making mildly interesting full on.           Cuntus Maximus.

Not get 100% in what way?
And listen, stop being a bitch and start insulting others as soon as you feel threatened. This is a forum about music making.

You appear to be another one of them people that just talks the talk and that's about it. There are loads just like you.

You are a grown man, act like one and stop being a little bitch.

You wanna talk music tech? I am all ears.

You wanted to know about custom modules? I gave u the info.
You wanna sel a house and buy 48U of the same brand, knock your self out.

You know how this forum works yet you have posted 0 samples of any music you make and you just talk shit and insult people.
People that use modulars, right now and know a lot more on the issue than your future plans on getting any system that you haven't even used, once, yet they are willing to help you, even after you insulted them.

Seriously, grow the fuck up.

"for example.... im pretty sure a doepfer eg spits out 0-5 volts. maths otoh is 0-8v. an MN vca/lpg expects 8 volts to fully open, so a doepfer eg wont open it all the way. conversely, a maths eg will clip a doepfer vca unless attenuated."

I got two words for you.
Attenuator.
VCA.
Most modules have attenuators in their inputs anyway.

"Compatibility" problem between brands, solved.

I don't know if you have a modular built already, but in any case you have a lot to learn on the principles of it.

Great sounds nectarios, these get a kind of natural separation in the mix that is really nice too.

so it s just math ? look like the entry makenoise with a math a dpo and optimix would be already really fun

I hate Frankensynths too OzMike, but it's more from an aesthetic standpoint than a sonic one. BTW I just pledged on the first batch of the Kilpatrick Phenol! Can't wait!           http://hermetechmastering.com : http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gregg+Janman : http://soundcloud.com/babaluma

yeah, can never have enough passive attenuators, vcas and mulitples (if you aren't going bananas). they are the epitome of boring but powerful in a modular context.

who cares for the aesthetics? lights blinking and cables hanging - that's the very definition of beauty! if not convinced with the looks, then different brands clearly like to have their cable chats, they

sound specially good when they don't positively agree with each other (unlike people on public foruns XD)

I do, it's extremely important to me. As important as the sound/build quality etc. That's just me though, I know I'm weird. I want an instrument to call me to it. When I see a lot of these Frankensynth systems, they just turn me off instantly.           http://hermetechmastering.com : http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gregg+Janman : http://soundcloud.com/babaluma

Right...whatever floats people's boats.
Modular is about two things for me, sound and functionality.
If I want a module that does something I like, I don't care what brand it is, or if the panel is yellow.
In the skiff it will go.

Well aesthetics and functionality are important to me and certain modular brands have some very beautiful designs, especially when out together.

It's interesting that ppl including me get defensive about this. Y can't we all get along?

I like that modular is personal and I think like all things design wise can easily reflect the individual.

Also all The Harvestman together gives me a massive boner. Plus they sound amazing.

It's not the machine that needs to reflect the individual, it's the music!
