Anyone who is really deep into this kind of music? Please give me some tips on important artists and albums that should be looked up if you want to get to know this genre.

neoclassical?
You should check out John Adams. He's pretty much the 'hottest' composer right now getting major orchestral commissions that has a 'neo-classical' stle.

Nightmare Lodge? that's more like Dark Ambient than Neocalssical.
Try Stamatis Spanoudakis, John Cage, Philip Glass.
Funny, but nowadays it seems that soundtracks are the new classical wave.
(And I'm still avoiding recommendations of soundtracks composers,
like Thomas Newman or Zbigniew Preisner.) |

Actually, Clint did the electronic parts on Requiem for a Dream. (Did you hear Pi's soundtrack? It was all Electronic).
Kronos Quartet were the ones making the 'classical' bits.
