ok you got some good points......what i was trying for is not to delete every set with techno on it but to merely put them in the appropriate topic....elettronica i thought was made for other types of elettronica....ex techno!?
no ban....just relocation....

@ all

sorry if you find msg offensive....but everytime one queries about anything, you have someone not even trying to answer...just, either going against you or joking about it.....imho no respect for who is asking.....
(only exception is Pavel on which i lost all hope of a semi-serious answer...but at least he's always like that....)

no excuse for my behaviour you're right.....!!

until login came....not even trying to answer but moreover tried to be sarcastic with a hint of superiority......?!was it needed...?
login chases me around trying to prove his point: techno is the new revolution blah blah blah.......
read my first post...please dont let it be a war between genres.......instead usual shit happened with people coming here and wanting to demonstrate that their taste is better more open and more blah blah blah....

my question was fair (and lets see who tries and answer):
why, with no indication in the section guidelines, people post whatever music dj sets they like?
especially why mods do it?

simple concept....no need to fight between techno, trance, gays or whatever....?!

and btw aint got anything against gays...just asked you if he was your boyfriend?

Thats the point no need to fight, but you seemed a little bit rude.

And techno is not a revolution it has been aropund a long time, I listen too much psy that is why I came to this forum, and becasuse theres a lot of intelligent people around here who loves dicussion and there is always something to learn, specially when it come to new music.

Let me try to explain my opinion, which does not necessarily overlap with IsraTrance's official stance.

It is difficult to draw the line. IMO parties without psytrance acts on the Line up should not be allowed.

Reviews of albums from other styles than psytrance should not be allowed too. However, is Infected Mushroom psytrance? What about D-Nox & Beckers? And that Shnorkel track by the Domestic guys? I don't think it is psytrance, but it is clearly psytrance related, and most psyheads will know these acts.

So this is subjective.
On the DJ Sets I think maybe it is better to let users post their mixes regarding of the style, or maybe suggest that all DJ Sets must present the style on the topic's title. On the other side, I definitely would hate to see the section flooded with house mixes or something like that, not because I have a preconception towards this genre, but because I think it is much less "psy-related" than minimal or pr0fane's techno set.

Clearly we do not favor pr0fane just because he is a mod, there are many other sets in other styles, sets from Edoardo (Neurobiotic) are good examples.

Not sure how this is going to end, but we are always open to criticism and suggestions.
Respect!

thanks full on for the first and only explanation....

i agree on parties......
review of albums too....
and dj sets.....

why not then expand the forum and divide the dj sets in more sections...absolutely psy and eletronica... like for other sections?
or better write new guidelines.....

talking about profane....today he wrote:
" let's try to keep this thread away from political discussions, as it is still against the guidelines. "

i would love much more a constructive political discussion rather than his sets.....

anyways....i can see from the attitude than no gives a fu@k so more and more "evolve radio sessions" will be posted in the dj sets section and my interest for this forum will decrease day by day....

there is soo much potential for the dj section......

anyways.....point is keep it psychedelic.....

The guidelines only exist to prevent these theoretically "constructive political discussion" to become highly aggressive fights that we know to happen when people start to discuss politics and religion here.

Only good DJ Sets get replies and stay in the first page. I think a good guideline is to allow users to post only their own sets (so radio sets and stuff like that are not allowed).

What you fail to see is that the DJ Sets Section has less than one year of existence and we are still trying to figure out what are the best guidelines and how to proceed in delicate situations.

Your suggestions are welcome, we are trying to please as much users as possible, without setting aside the psychedelic aspect of the forum.
Respect!           .

Didn't read all posts, but here are my thoughts on the situation:

Like it or not, there is lots of interest for techno-related sounds in the psychedelic trance scene - both among DJ's, but certainly also among partygoers and organizers. Let's just take some of the most respected and influential psychedelic trance festivals as example: The portuguese BooM festival has this year booked artists like Extrawelt and Paul Ritch, Universo Paralello in Brazil had artists like Boris Brejcha, Khainz and Velkro on the lineup, and Rainbow Serpent in Australia had Monolake, Minilogue and Ripperton.

Also here on the site there is big interest for this, for instance with the thread for Edoardos last mix attracting over 2500 views, and my review for "Shnorkel", which has more views and comments than most other reviews from 2008.

I am not saying that techno is a new, superior genre, but I don't like the idea that we as moderators should limit people in discussing new directions in psychedelic trance. No, Velkro and Minilogue doesn't sound exactly like psychedelic trance did 10 years ago - but the same can definitely be said for almost all the dark acts. Should we exclude dark psy sets from the DJ Sets section as well then?

Actually, people said the exact same things 10 years ago about progressive artists like Atmos. "This isn't goatrance or psytrance", and just look at the huge positive impact he had on the psychedelic trance scene.

What is psychedelic anyways by the way? It's a totally subjective definition, and I can't take people seriously who discuss if one thing is more psychedelic than something else. I like GOOD MUSIC, and a lot of that coincidentally falls into the definition of psychedelic trance.

Concerning political discussions: I didn't invent the guidelines, only try to enforce them in the Trance section, but as full_on mentioned; political discussions tend to get very heated and intense, with lots of badmouthing.

i think this guideline only applies when its hurting the sentiments of a few mods/users..
there are threads which talk abt religion n politics but are still open..
so yahhhhh
