Nevermind...I've found them

V.A.: Some More Horizons
Roots, Inspirations and Remixes by Mo’ Horizons
Bossanova from Hannova... After three albums, the music wizards, organ grinders and groove monsters Mo’ Horizons have refined their distinctive sound fusing Soul, Funk, Jazz, Boogaloo, Bossa and Salsa with Downbeat and Drum’n’Bass. Their first compilation presents their multifarious world of rhythms without restrictions. On „Some More Horizons“ you find classic tracks as well as exciting new ones, electronic sounds as well as traditional pieces, Soul music as well as Latin hits. Mo’ Horizons salvage unknown artists and feature stars with widely unknown treasures. Miriam Makeba delivers „Umquokozo“, a blazing hot Salsa track while the Cuban version of Sesame Streets’ hit „Mana Mana“ makes you feel good and hum along. Jazz and Funk join in with Donald Byrd’s rendition of „Boom Boom“ which later turned into a worldwide hit by John Lee Hooker. Rare Soul gems juxtapose with club remixes for and of Mo’ Horizons. The last song is the rendition of „Pe Na Estrada“ by a Portuguese primary school! A rhythmic delight.

Including tracks and productions of Gilberto Gil, Miriam Makeba, Catarina Valente, Donald Byrd, Corduroy, La Taverne Du Lac, Mo’ Horizons, Fort Knox Five and many more.

"remember tomorrow "

CD SD 072-2
DLP SD 072-1
Release Date : 03/09/01

In July 1999, the debut album from Mo`Horizons "Come touch the sun "saw the light of day and soon set itself as an innovative standard for Clubs, Radio and DJ`s alike. The second 12"single to be released from the album "Foto Viva"can only be counted as a classic in the Downtempo / Lounge and Nu-Jazz scene and would find itself appearing on more than 25 well-known compilations. Worldwide DJ Sets and numerous remixes ( Aroma bar, Soul Scream, Kitchen tools) are the result of the unique sound of Mo´Horizons.

Ikea and VIVA would also find themselves complimenting their TV campaigns with the Mo`Horizons sound... and with sales of the album topping 50 000 worldwide not just the record label was suprised.

Within a short time Mo`Horizons had shot into the modern dance & listening music scene Every 12" went straight into the DC- Charts. Their diverse repertoire of sounds would be used from background music in TV documentaries to innovative Radio stations who played just about every track from the album....

The second album from Mo`Horizons "Remember Tomorrow"(release date 03 sept 2001) sticks itself seamlessly on the first but beware of being too complacent this baby will make you want to shake your bootie on any dancefloor.

Ralf Droesemeyer and Mark "Foh" Wetzler have been working on the 12 tracks that make up this album since the beginning of 2001, using such an array of styles from brazil, latin, jazz and soul, afro, funk, dub to name but a few. and for the first time enriched with a little boogaloo just for good measure.

Mo`Horizons integrate effortlessly all the elements from the 50`s to the 90`s in what has become their distinguishable sound all with Live musicians and VocalsÝemerging to form a wide ranging multicultural sound that can only be classed as Mo`Horizons so diversive and refreshing that producers such as Nicola Conte, SWAG and Skeewiff had already started to put their own unique touches to remixes before general release with "Remember Tomorrow" Ralf & Foh didn´t want to remove themselves from the electro-bossa-brazil sound they so endear to, they merely expand the borders of their musical preferences and loves.

MO`HORIZONS
"Come, touch the sun"

CD SD 037
DLP SD 037-1
MO' HORIZONS consists of producers, musicians and DJ's Ralf Droesemeyer and the Mark ‘Foh’ Wetzler. Ralf is reknown for his work with, amongst many others, Cunnie Williams or Randy Crawford.

Together these two lads form a unit that’s been in effect for a few years already, slowly, but steadily gaining props and respect from many DJ celebs drop their name in the lounges and clubs. So Ralf and Foh decided that the time is now to really come up with their very own stuff and start a serious musical project - Mo’ Horizons saw the light of day..

Mo’s first two 12“s 'Yes Baby Yes' and 'Foto Viva' were so sucessful in the clubs and on the dancefloors that they made it up to the top ten of DCC (official german club charts) and 'Foto Viva' even became a radio hit. On their first album ‘Come touch the sun’ (the record is dedicated to the sun giving warmth & light to all people) the two masterminds melt influences ranging from the soulful fifties, sixties & funky seventies straight to the nineties. Integrating modern production techniques and a handful of talented live-musicians and vocalists they create a sound that varies in mood and style but is still homogenous and therefore can easily be identified as Mo’ Horizons. Nujazz, soul, afro, latin, funk, downbeat, dub, triphop or bigbeat: Mo’ Horizons break all boundaries and tear down all musical barricades.

PRESS STATEMENTS:
'An absolute gem of an album from Germany's Stereo Deluxe imprint that's just begging for someone to pick it up over here and make 'em massive. This would the release of the month in any other month.'

MUZIK Magazine, Calvin Bush 'Yes, this is the view from Café del Mar and exactly this the description for this music. 9 musicians playing fantastic, soulful sounds to widen your horizon for to be able to touch the sun.
RESPECT!!!'

PARTYSAN IBIZA 'Sultry Portugese vocals blend with fine German engineering - heaven!' (Thievery Corporation Top Ten Playlist, No.2 MO' HORIZONS - Foto Viva)
