mixing question....

ok. so i finally finish a track. now comes the mixing part. after i`ve dealt with each and every sound . what do u think should be done? seprate exports to each track and than mixdown all of them toghether or export each one and than premix them into groups, work on the groups (if needed)and mix those down to a final project?

i like grouping when u feel u can make extra work for the track.
kick - alone or with bass
bass - same
drum and percussion group
leads group
pads and vocals
may be minor compression and seperate eq's will do the trick.. ( in logic there is great stereo seperation tool)

i guess that also depends on the track itself.
maye some kind of tracks youŽll feel more the diference others less, but i would leave that for audio engenneers as theyŽll know better what to do, since when you send a track to any label they ask you for the plain mix and not the one compressed or home mastered. |
