Hi im about to make a sound demo as a demotrack for our soundlab for customers.
I guess ill take something like a F1 car sound or something, but im having some issues to figure out how the actual mix procedure would be carried out, as i want the sound to spin around 360 degree. the combo of using volume automation and pan automation is obvious.

http://lh5.ggpht.com/_Xjr3IwjQ30I/S86TJ4prlYI/AAAAAAAAADA/6lhtmLpQdYE/s912/Drawing1.jpg <-- this is the layout of the lab.

what i wonder is the pan when you switch from one stereo output to the other one, at output 1 & 2 should be 100% panned to output 2 and at stereo 3 & 4 it should be at 100% on 4, next step would be to lower the volume at chan 1 & 2 and increase at chan 3 & 4.
And when you´ve reached -3 dB on both channels thats when the sound should be centered.

Now this is my theory, haven´t carried this out yet but does anyone have another idea on how to perform this sensation?

Edit: Found one possible way would be to use one track and then working with buses and filters..           Demand recognition for the Armenian genocide 1915

probably easier to do with a surround setup tho

Yeah, probably easier in a surround setup. But the lab is intended to play pink noise in order to test hearing protectors (passive, active attenuation and level dependent protectors) So here is no point in using 5.1 in there           Demand recognition for the Armenian genocide 1915
