I tried to find that book in the library, but I couldn't, and then I forgot about it. |

You will probably pick up some useful stuff by watching these dvd's. If you get them, let me know what you think.

it's actually really good. I mean, obviously the demo tracks are not psy trance, but there's a lot of really useful technical info (how to EQ a bassline just right, etc etc) that someone who's not a sound engineer would never think of, and that helps a tremendous amount. Making a trance track sound right, no matter what subgenre you're in, involvesa lot of weird, counterintuitive, esoteric techniques. And this book shares them in a totally open, straightforward way. Just try not to wince at the vocals |

the words on the page sounds very convincing! =)
i guess there`s a manual for everything this time around... I would like to watch the dvd`s once or twice, i guess it wouldnt hurt!
If there was a dvd-pack with tips and tricks from twisted recs... i would buy it.. hehehe...
In the end, at least in my mind here and now it seems that any manual out there cant make an artist... just look at the "idol-shows" that has invaded our planet!
the name has an evil ring to it, doesnt it?
Idol... Off tropic
peace out!

They're not video.
They have full (audio+waves plugins) Cubase & Logic files of a single track plus several remixes of said track that the book references. So you can read a trick in the book, then actually do it on the project itself. It's quite helpful. |

I'd say the book has been useful to me... not overly so, but has definitely affected the way I mix.
If you think of it as a 'how-to-make-ultra-killer-trance-in-to-time' instruction manual are missing the point.
While there is some discussion on composition, the essence of the book is on mixing trance tunes (melodic is this case, but same rules apply) and I for one certainly picked up some techniques that have improved my sound.
So, don't expect it to teach you how to make great music, it won't. But I'm sure some ppl would find comfort in knowing that they are applying the same techniques as an established artist...it won't hurt for sure |

Indeed. It was nice to hear and see this trance tune at Cubase, specially if u make only hard psy trance. And to make a fast remix... lol
But u will not find much tricks or tips. Althought it has a nice sidechain tutorial.
