I got a little confusion

When you guys talk about the mixing of a track you just produced are you talking about the automatisations in the mixing master console in the DAW or any other kind of mixing after the song has been rendered to a file from the daw?

thx in advance

peace!

I guess the automatization thing is part of the creative process.
Mixing consists in your way of placing 'stuff' into your tune, and with that 'stuff' you pan, eq, increase/decrease volume and you apply effects and processors.
After a tune's mix down comes the mastering part, to adjust your song, correct 'mistakes' and increase the overall volume.

But, i'm sure you can get answers a lot more developed than mine, so..

'Mixing' is everything you do to the sounds in your DAW to make them fit with each other whilst you're making the track, before you render it to a single file.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering
