im looking to get a mixer for my new improved live setup I wanna run 2 computers and a virus into this thing and i want several outputs from the one computer so id need like 6 stereo channels.
my question is this can i split the signal into two of the mono channels on a mixer pan one left and the other right to essentially be using 2 mono channels to create one stereo channel, or will it default to the left pan and make it so i have 2 lefts instead of a left and a right? haha sorry for the long wording.
my other question is I want to hook it up to a rack effects unit but most of the mixers im finding have a single jack for send but two jacks a left and a right for the return so can it really be that they are sending mono and returning stereo? that seems crazy to me but thats what it looks like.
ok another last question...I also would like to have the ability to solo certain channels in my headphones like you do on a dj mixer any product suggestion. i was thinking mackie dfx 12 but there would be 4 mono channels id never use if that signal split idea doesnt work.
thanks
:chuck:

ok i figured out my panning mono channel question and it does work so can i run an alternate output to an fx unit and run it back to the stereo return for the true stereo?
