Hi!
To be comparing with artist around the world, do I really need a digital mixer with bounch of FX hardware. /reverb,compressor and so n)
I read that you can do alot of good stuff with software and software mixer but other say that it will sound like shit.
What do you need a mixer when you can do it on a computer, as i can see it, you route in/out in the mixer (synths) the eq and so on you can do it on software or will it sound shit??

It is a old discussion mate, you should read some past posts their are loads about this.
but just summarizing:
Some can do wonders with soft, other cant. Some love the fisical touch that you get with hardware and other arent to bothered about, some cant stand using the mouse all the time, other love it...

Yeah, just like NeuroN said, its a matter of choice...
Many albums made juts with soft, many other using mainly hardware...
In my opinion hardware is good, and in some particular areas (reverb, compressors, ...) it beats any software
But that doesn't mean you can't make quality professional music just with soft. |
