I'm having some difficulties understanding whether I should like it or not, being totally spaced out on the dancefloor, just floating away with my mind on the Psychedelic music.

When the necessary substances have been taken, when the music is really sounding THAT heavenly beautiful, when I hear air phazing, going through weird metallic although organic sounding pipes!

At these moments I wish I could as my natural self understand how I'm perceiving the music.
But I can't!
Actually, I have no clue of what brought me here, and why I'm dancing to the music as at the same time, I'm not feeling like myself and I'm not understanding myself neither.

I feel detached from my body and in a way, I can't enjoy the music to the fullest, because it feels weird, not being conscience like we're supposed to be.

Then I question myself, if it's really the Psychedelicness which I'm after or not?

If so, then I'm finding it a frightening thought, having to be in such a psychedelic state to understand the music this way.

If not, I kind of feel like I'm on a road leading me nowhere, which isn't going to satisfy either.

Where it all comes down to, is that I want to experience the true psychedelic feeling of music in a state where I'm being totally sober, but that's just not possible.
Where I can judge the music from my true self.

And the mixed feelings uppon this leaves me unsattisfied.

It's this unsattisfied feeling which I just can't get around.

Is this in any way familiar with you?

I feel exactly the same many times... and i'm glad you could put down your feelings so nicely in words!

When i feel like this and that happens many times a month... i just use some more dope so that i don't lose the trip. I guess, some of us need more time, than usual to get used to this genre.

drugs are bad mmmk'y ?

realy , i have seen the light on acid , but it goes away after the trip is down isnt it ?

but a microscopic trace is still somewhere in my concioucness , and i can enjoy the psychadelic spirit without any substence that i dont smoke in any working day

love the music for itself not just as part of the party expirience (tho this is peak for sure)

also , listen alot to live bands , i find myself 1000 times more east conecting with instruments being played by peaple rather then proggramed sequences and computer music (those have good times also but miss some the human touch sometimes)           www.sattelbattle.com

Real good music keeps being real good music even if you're sober or at home. The same is valid for real psychedelic music.

I like psychedelic trance precisely because the music itself can take the place of drugs... they simply aren't necessary when the music is really good.

Your soul is drawn to the "psychedelicness". Your ego is frightened on the way

interesting topic. have had thoughts along similar lines. i think it depends alot on the environment and your state of mind. sometimes the music can be enough to really take you places, and at other times you might need a little help. and in each situation the understanding of the music is somewhat different in the sense that understanding the music sober gives you a different sort of pleasure, and vice versa. but at the end of the day i guess tsabeat nailed it - love the music for itself

this is so true!!
You go through many phases while experience psychedelic trance. you get introduced to it by coincidence, you start feeling it with substances, and you collect many experiences in your head. it all stays in your mind. every time you get a high on music it stays in you, and it never fades. then slowly you start realizing that you can lead your own trips without the help of any drug, it all becomes connected to the music. Many people might refuse to give themselves a chance to experience a psychedelic high on music without the help of any drug, because it is simply easier to use substances.

yep i feel ya....

i felt the best way for me to reach the "light" with no additional catalysts is to make it as an experience more than a party....
first step tho involves obvious detachment....not only from rugs but from parties too...then after a short break go back to the best party you can find and see wheather you are still "confused"....??

i had the same feeling but after a "personalised cure" now i enjoy parties free from needing something to reach the deep frequencies and patterns in psychedelic music...much more enjoyable.....and really how can you live without psycheadelia...natural or stimulated??!!

btw when the experience turns "psy induced" again...(very rarely)....well you have double the intensity, fun, and higher trance state...

problem is that as previously discussed...there is a certain point where the effects of substances actually are counterproductive in achieving the blissfull experience....and make you lose the way to true mind opening experiences of psychedelic music..and in worst cases translated in more destructive effects!
have too many friends...that even after years of psy dont get this point.....??!!.....useful discussion!

never had a problem like this... I got into the music straight, found that the drugs made it worse, and so stayed clean...

if you need the drugs to enjoy then good for you. just moderate the intake           --- Love In Light, Dance In Darkness ---
