Mixdown problem

Whem I mix down a track in Cubase, I encounter a new phenomena, which I haven't encountered before:
The Hi-hats in the mixdown wav file sound chopped, as if a flanger effect has used upon them. Furthermore, the kicks suffer from slight distortion.
I work in 96/32. Is the odd phenomena happen due to down-rendering of the original 96/32 audio to 44/16? If so, what can I do to fix this?

first if you work 96khz use 24bit, 32 will just make the plugz to take more cpu, you wont feel the difference. about your problem as for distortion just put less volume at the master, and maybe you using a shitty plug or so.. |

Well, the thing is that in cubase, everything sounds great, but the mixdown wav sounds pretty bad. As a sampler I use DR-008. Anything wrong with this one? |

yeah i also have this problem
reduce volume of the instrument you use almost to minimum

Don't mixdown to 16/44 from Cubase!
Mixdown to whatever format you're working with (24/96) I assume and only then, after you have the wav file, change format using Sound Forge.
It solved my problems

1)why do u downsample in cubase anyway ?
(follow Mike's suggestion)
2) did u check that DR-00whatever works under 32 bits ?
some of the plugins are not written for 32 bit, so u can experience very strange hazards in 32 bit.
(a compressor can turn into something else ...)

Alright, i'll down sample using sound forge and let you know.
DR-008 doesn't work in 32, but i've never experience any problems such as this when using it. Next track with Halion I guess...
