Sorry. Meant to post this to the DJ Mixes thread. Mods, please move if possible.

So, I'm just this regular guy who passionately and obsessively loves music. A few months back I picked up a Behringer BCD3000 and a copy of Traktor Studio 3.3. Since then I've taken to having a few glasses of wine, lighting a few candles, and mixing off a random song. Great for the soul. Bad for the liver. I figured I'd post a mix here to get some constructive feedback on how to be better.

About this mix...

1. Lots of wine and little food.
2. Random and unpracticed set based off of first song.
3. Everything was recorded live and on the fly.
4. This mix is more about feel and flow than beat. So more of a "fade" than a "mix"?
5. Really falls off at the end as wine and need for sleep get the best of me.
6. I suck. I know I suck. I embrace my inner-suckage. Help me get better.

Now that we have that out of the way... A sloppy and imperfect mix by yours truly.

Playlist:
Hallucinogen - The Herb Garden
Flooting Grooves - Thermal Shock
Androcell - Gnome Dosed
Seahorse Transform - Forest Morph
OMG - I have no idea what song this is that follows. O_o
Elea - Strangers

I think it sounds good, man. I like the tracklist; I started to notice a while ago that we have very similar taste in chillout.....though that mystery track sounds suspiciously like prog trance. Your mixing isn't as bad as you think; "thermal shock" into "gnome dosed" was the only mix that you could say was a little awkward. But all in all the mix is adequate. maybe even sufficient!

Haven't heard that yeti track in a while...it piqued my interest in that legend again. Hopefully they don't make an Indiana Jones movie about this one too, lol          http://soundcloud.com/rob-vector

Thanks very much for the positive words. I'm really shocked I can't remember what that fifth track is. That is definitely a product of the wine.

exactly my taste in music too, nice work mate. Mixing sounds fine to me, maybe we shouldn't pay so much attention to it - after all this is great music.
