Yumade is minimal and NOT progressive - END of story. I found a perfect example of minimal that's NOT progressive. Therefor, the statement is not true. What's so hard to understand here?
Unless you define Yumade as progressive (and they're NOT), this should have ended the debate a long time ago. Krumelur is minimal but not always progressive - he has a very full-on attitude to his music.
The only connection between the two is that minimal is a style where every sound has a meaning and should be perfectly in place - with nothing random whatsoever. This happens to be the same attitude that brought progressive music - but it's NOT a necessary connection, just like I might say that all full-on is noisy.
All full-on music is noisy, but not all noisy music is full-on. Correct or not?
No. Not at all.

I do not think that many people who like progressive psy-trance, techno trance, tech-house, and so on would call these styles minimal. Minimal is a collective term that covers a wide variety of music to the point where it is not very descriptive.
I wish I had heard more Lish tracks, because they definitely seem like a very talented trance act, but I wouldn't call "Symphonies of Sickness," released on Flow's "Motion Generator" compilation either minimal or progressive. The rhythm and the effects still have something from full-on, but it's really good music which in the end is all that matters!
BTW, does anyone know why their track on the Phonokol "Psychedelic Blonde" compilation is called "Kakvo Iskach" which means something like "What do you want" in Bulgarian. I'm really curious what the Bulgarian connection is .

Can't you define what is minimal, progressive, full on, etc... in terms that are precise like bpm, etc...
What makes a minimal track and what makes a progressive track?
We're talking about psytrance, right?
Is there minimal techno trance???
I'm very confused here....
  .
...Be gentle with the earth...
...Dance like nobody's watching...
.
...I don't mind not going to Heaven, as long as they've got Coffee in Hell... |

All good music is good
All bad music is bad
TRUE?
stop loving music because of its genre, love it cuz of the music itself

Surg, stop the bullshit.
Categorization of music is there for a reason.
It's like food. When you're ordering something at a restaurant, you know what you're ordering. Same thing here.

Sound Surgeon, it isn't true and like Mike said there is a reason for that, it is there for a cause.
And you can't describe something bad because it is a matter of taste and of a personal view and idealism.
And as for prog and minimal -- I still reckon minimal is minimal and prog is prog.
And both are types of sub genres and not genres themselves, just like there can be minimal techno and minimal industrial-metal and same with prog -- prog black metal, prog rock, prog baroque (classical) etc.
