the genre categorizing is just for verbal communication purposes.
the music speaks for it self n the words we use to describe it do limit our imagination.
The set itself is gr8 i think because the musical substence in it is original n it keeps the techy deep ("dark") mantra sound all the way. also the mixing style is interesting, specialy at the last tracks..
no sweet melodies or corny builds here!

and for me sensient its kinda 'minimalistic' music... and its trance music..
and i dont think the word 'minimal' its related to the bpms..
'minimal' is just a charachteristic, its not the same as saying 'minimal tech'

I agree with onionbrain...
Minimalistic is like progressive, its not a style, it is a concept...
Any music can be progressive and/or minimalistic.
Minimalistic for me is music with a few channels working at a time. Not so many sounds at the same time. Few synths and samples working together.
As for the set, I really like the tracks! And I think u r in the right path Fractal Phono! But I didn't like the way the set was built and mixed, my opinion, don't take it the bad way. Just practice man, and your work i'll get even better! |

just bin listening to your set...
nice work... very nice mix. only a few, mistakes wit the beat mixing. but you are fast to correct it.
no doubt you got skills...
track list is not my style. but I stille like the music.
