what's the differences between minimal & progressive trance.
i know that in minimal trance the artist use a very few sounds, some kicks & drums, psychedelic sounds and that's it
so what is progressive trance? and why it called "Progressive" ?

The subject has been allready discussed here...

Whatever u said about minimal is true.
Progressive is used too much nawadays which I thnk is wrong, but it's trance that progressive compared to other styles in trance.

I guess every style can have their progressive trance - though today most ppl refer to progressive trance as tech-trance.

Trip- here just thinks that all minimal music should be called techno.

OK: Minimal - music with not many elements/clutter in the sound. XV Killist for instance.

Progressive - music that derives it's power from the structure (the progression, hence the name) of the track. Quirk is progressive full-on, for instance (to show you progressive doesn't have to be minimal).           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

A good example of minimal would be: Shiva Chandra, SBK, Noma, Amphasis, Kilophil, Gnome Effect etc'...

Kaz explained Progressive very well - "music that derives it's power from the structure "

progressive definition is very "cloudy" even for the ones who invented it....
i am trying for a long time to understand what really divides progressive tracks from other genres of trance, but i think that even with more 1000 xplanations i won't know exactly...
MFG - New Kind Of World which is the best disc i heard in my life says "PROGRESSIVE" on it..
Also Tandu - Multimoods (or any other ofer cd) used to be labeled Prog.
these pieces are indredible morningish trance or whatever u want but it's GOOD!
And now im told that
Space Tribe & Electric Universe - Acid test
is progressive....... What's the connection?

my point of view is that progressive trance changes with the time because i think it's main idea is to bring the most new and KIDMATI kind of trance which always comes more and more new..
hope i explained my self..
