trying to put into words what a blast I had in iowa is really hard!
it was a fantastic experience --i fell in love with psy all over again and the energy that it emits!
I couldn't have been happier that this was my brother's first psy party.

i was getting a bit jaded with the scene in general and am so glad i went out to Iowa because this is how psy parties should be!

Warm people, amazing energy, never quit attitude, and pure unconditional love for the music and the scene!it was perfect.

the weather was beautiful, all the venues from the MOP crew house, to the "industry" to the hall of fame were lovely. The deco was amazing as well.
BUT what really made it AMAZING for me was definitely the people and their enthusiasm- ahhh no words!
generous , full of energy and so much damn fun!!!
what i loved is how close knit everyone became in the 3 days -from the crew to the djs to the public!

now to the actual music- WOW
dai, artifakt, daksi, random and more that i heard in the basement - HOLY SHIT! some crazy sets.
even tho the crowd was small- we couldnt stop moving to the music these guys were putting out there.
artifakt's set was one of a kind and then sunday morning with daksi's set and the sun rising was a perfect ending to a beautiful weekend!
dai's mixing skills- unbelievable!

thank u to MOP crew for throwing this down iowa style : love u guys....the backyard was perfect camping ground and the basement was brilliant:)

so much love to all my old & new friends esp the milwaukee crew.

i will be back....

muchos besos

My last post from mid-west in sometime. All I can think of while waiting for my flight is how much fun it was last weekend. I started my journey in Iowa with Mubali at Planetary Departure and now it ends with Uncharted Territory (not really ends ). What a fun-freaking journey it has been. Anyway, now to the review.

First of all - just WOW!

One of the strongest vibed party the midwest has seen. After all the mess and stress over last month, everybody who ended up coming to Iowa where there for the party and it showed up in the dance floor whole weekend. Seeing so many people getting down solidified my faith in this music and scene by atleast 10 times. It proved that whatever hardship we went through to get this party was all worth it in the end.

Location & Deco
================

Industry was perfect to get things started up. The deco was almost perfect and the moving fan behind the glowlights added that extra crazyness to it. Lot of people contributed to make the place what it was. Moving to our house and basement after the party was even more crazy. Never before I thought that basement party would be so fun. Thank you Cliff for the live painting. Made things just an extra bit more.

Hall of fame as usual brings back good memories from previous parties. Admittedly, it was not as crazy as Raindance but whoever was there, did a wonderful job in getting the place up. It was such a pleasure to see so many people contributing to the deco and bringing their own extra unique touch to the environment. Extra props to Clifff again for single handedly decorating the chill stage. Fantastic job dude and my utmost respect to you. The party would never be the same without the enthusiasm that you guys show.

People
=======

WOW! I have never had so much fun with so many different and colorful attendees. Great to see Kevin, Dashak, Sana, Altaaf, Eleven etc. making such a long trip to be part of the gathering and trust me it showed up. One of the most powerful crowd Psyowa has ever experienced. Love you all. I have never seen people going so crazy and shouting like nuts while dancing. Makes me feel that Psyowa is certainly a different place

I could see that everybody was extra careful in this party and doing their bit to make the even more safe. Thank you all.

It was so much fun hosting all you guys.

Music
======

I dont know where to start - everybody was just perfect and just progressed seamlessly with the whole weekend flow. For me Artifakt, Daksi, Dai, Mist, Lauryn and Egbot were the best sets of the weekend in that order.

When I reached Industry, Mist was just getting ready to bring on the mayhem and man did he SUCCEED in that. Dai set was one of the most powerful tribal sounds I have heard in a long long time. The set he played at Gemini was awesome but this one - EXTRA AWESOME! Ooze as usual tore it apart at the basement just like the way they do and it was so fun grooving to Random, Artifakt and Daksi's tag. WOW! I guess this was the first time, these geniuses have tagged and that also in our basement - makes me feel special!

After the rest at home and listening to so many people - Ascension, Paradigm, Chris, Aktif, Max etc. set in between - I was ready for the mayhem that was gonna happen at Hall of Fame. We all reached an hour late but got into thick of things as we reached there. Machi as usual got the things grooving (loved your set dude) before Random brought in his style of groovyness, randomness and just awesomeness. Uzi not showing up gave Random and Lauryn & Egboth extra half hours to throw it down like they do. Lauryn and Egbot - WOW! I thought their 3rd Eye set was BAD-ASS, well this was SUPER BAD ASS! I just jumped around shouting from top of my voice.

Niki is the MAN! That was hands-down the hardest set I have heard in my life. It left my brain so clean and scatterbrained that I had to actually take a break for his last 30 minutes so that I could get my brain in place for Artifakt.

And now Artifakt - HE IS GOD! Definitely, the best set along with Rastaliens at Gaian Mind in my life. The music was so electrifying and bumpy and my body just moved to the flow. Perfect flow with one of the best DJing skills I have seen in life. Just PERFECT. You know Artifakt is good when Igor and Random get down to his tunes. I saw literally everybody in Hall of Fame dance to Artifakt. Simply put - genius!

No let up of energy by Daksi with his morning set. Have heard him play in India and Germany but this one was extra special. I am so glad you made the trip to USA and to Iowa. We definitely needed that extra powerful European style morning goodness. Sun coming down for his last 45 minutes was icing on the cake.

I was too tired after that to hear any set in completeness but whenever I went to the basement, never could stop myself to dance. Abe, Airyck and Banjankri - simply delicious. Perfect way to end the weekend.

In the end, this one was definitely one of the most bitter-sweet weekend for me. Being part of such a great event but the fact that I had to leave after it, was always in the back of my mind. I have made many friends over the last 2 years through this scene that I will be cherishing all my life. I feel rejuvenated after this event and I look forward to get started with my job with fullest energy.

It was great to know all of you. Hopefully, I am not missing many in the list but if I do - you know that I have not forgottten yoy

Chris, Abe, Nick, Trevor, Ryan, Katy, Dakota, Dashak, Jennie Schorn, Mallory, Lynda, Carolyn, Rheannon, Jason, Josh, Ascension, Kevin from California, Cooper, Tim Knab, Blake, Jessica, Mubali, Ben and Ben, Nick Mosser, Eddy, Geal, Nate, Anni, Rick, PSI Fu, Cliff, Rachel, Pauldo, Liza, Toki, Scatter, Anita, Igor, Scott, Arahat, Bodhi, Shawn, JeffZ, Damon, Daniel, Tyler, Harlow, Davon, Brandon, Naveen, Varun, Machi, Alex, Max, Julia, Sveta, Anand, Anusha and many many many many more.           Discover.Vote.Share() - http://www.beamto.us

Yea Ritesh, while I'm/We're immensely sad that you're leaving us , I'm happy for you, this is marking the outset of a new segment in your life and we know you're only gone in physical form and will surely be back in the future sometime. I appreciate everything you've done for us, aiding our growth and evolution, there will be no one or anything that will fill the void you've left but the crater of impact your positivity, happiness, and energy has left behind will resonate forevermore in perpetuity.. Thanks for everything my friend, see you on the trance floor soon.

Now for my review,

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who continues to support our cause and the vision we all mutually share , without you there would be nothing. It's truly affective to see each individual and other facets of our community come together to form one ultimate and beautiful actuality. Despite all the unenthusiastic and adverse energy directed towards this celebration from other sources WE DID IT, and did it extremely well I must say..I believe considering the circumstances this was one of the most successful and special gatherings to date. Big Thank You.

Now for the music,

A ceaseless buffet of psycho-stimulating hyper-vitamined brain cake super trance
I can confidently say that every single set that was played this weekend was absolutely top notch..track selection, mixing, stage presence ..everything..just perfect.

the Artifakt ..this guy, aside from being a most humble and kind dude, was one wizardly and supreme sound scientist, the prime mover and mastermind of the South African psy scene, it was a gift and treat just to have him here to share his sound and energy. One of the best sets I've had the pleasure of dancing to in my life, crisp-clean solid twilight power trance at its absolute best left my mind maimed and disfigured , followed by a perfect psycho-restoration and reassembly of the most inner variety. WOooHoOoo

Niki - Aside from being the co-manager of my personal favorite record label an awesome and funny goofball of a guy..it was a pleasure having you @ my house and coming to play some of your creme de la creme unreleased sonic righteousness. Took me on a mental expedition to the darkest crevasses of my encephalon and forced some serious power dance from my physical extensions. Thanks again.

Daksin- Again, such an awesome humble dude who beholds a collection of some seriously menacing but rejuvenating, twisted tunage ..your set + the sunrise allowed through the glass partitions was an absolute day-spring of bliss. Great stuff, can't wait to see this guy for round two this weekend @ Earthdance

Dai - Much appreciate the very euphonic, aural gifts. Super impressive nighttime sounds coming from this guy, one of the best night sets I've heard...definitely right up my alley. I really appreciated your friendship and the talks we had, I feel like we really got to connect through some of our conversations. I look forward to hanging out again my friend, it was also great having you stay @ my place.

Ross-Random - Always a pleasure my friend, having you around and hearing your ever-evolving fresh sound, it's really like nothing else. Thanks for your positive energy on the dance-floor, behind the decks and in between.

Mist - Your audial arsenal never ceases to amaze me, that and your flawless and seamless mixing abilities...thanks again for coming, and for being such an awesome dude.

Scott + Igor - You guys are the business, I really appreciate your help in organizing and aiding the fluency of the party and transitions. It's a big help. Also, obviously, your continuously and ever-evolving productions..such good stuff I only wish I had caught a bit more of your set downstairs and had a chance to hear some of the downtempo-ish creations you've been working on. Sometime soon I'm sure. Thanks.

Everyone else, you know who you are, thanks for everything and for making this celebration what it was. I had a great time.

See you all @ Earthdance

I still feel the intense afterglow of last weekend... beautiful people, music, vibes, energy, conversations, knowledge obtained, ect Despite the small crowd (about 160-170), I had one of the best times ever! I cant believe how great the community was, and how interconnected everyone was.. simply amazing!

Artifakt - you have been one of my favorite producers, record label heads, dj, ect for some time and to finally be able to kick it with you and experience your kindness and knowledge was uncomparable! thanks for such a great vibe, the new Timecode stuff is beyond the goodness!

Daksinamurti - I didnt get to know you too well over the weekend, but thankfully we have another chance next week at Earthdance. Your dj set was perfect, and your comps are extremely impressive, keep up the great work and dancefloor vibes, your a true psy pioneer! Such a great sunrise!!!

Niki - Thanks for such a great set and vibes throughout the weekend. Your music is killagh! Keep up the hard work and I know Ill see you soon enough Earthdance, watch out for some psy warriors!

Random - You are a madman of capabilities, and your intelligence with music shines like the sun. Definitely one of the best the US has to offer, an audio shaman to be reckoned with! Thanks for such great vibes and it was great having you sleep on my couch

Lauryn and Egbot - Thanks so much for bringing yourselves out and laying down the straight goodness on the decks It is beyond appreciated! We'll have you back soon as its hard to go long without kicking it with the fam

Dai - Wow man, great djing and amazing produced tracks! Your an impressive psy additive, this scene is strengthened by your presence. keep up the good work man and when I visit the west coast Im coming to say hi!

Mist - Your set was flawless, your energy high and incredibly enjoyable and your presence at the show just plain necessary keep up the good work with everything, Ill see you in Texas in a couple of weeks I dont normally drink, but seeing I will be Texas, Ill make an exception

Ooze - you guys are always impressive, and without your help with everything none of this would ever be possible. Thanks so much for everything! I love you guys!

Paradigm - Thanks for working with us and playing a great set at the afties. I hope it wasnt too much of a headache with everything and we'll be alot more organized next time, i promise!

Cooper - thanks for flying out and dealing with the water incident leaking through two floors and almost onto the dj equiptment.. wow that was a close one! I only caught a bit of your set but very impressive stuff indeed man... we need you back!

Justin - you are the best sound guy an org can have, simply amazing energy and good attitudes. Thanks for everything man, we want to use you whenever possible!

Machi and Alex - thanks for all the little things, your help is very very appreciated! I truly feel like you both are part of my family

The new stompers - Sana, Dash, Kevin, metal guy from mn (sorry cant remember your name and many others I couldnt quite catch the name of, you are AMAZING! Your energy was unbelievable and made everyone else get down that much more! We have had some pretty crazy dancefloors in 30 parties but that was my favorite by far.. and alot of it is thanks to you You all must come back sooon!

Ritesh - I am going to miss you soo much man Seriously your one of the best friends a guy can have... keep up such warm vibes, immaculate energy and incredible knowledge and wisdom. I will see you again very soon man, and Ill come out to Cali to visit for like a month See you very soon!

Dale - Thanks for letting us use the Hall of Fame for the 3rd time it meant alot and you can tell that people will never forget that place. It is a spiritual place that goes beyond a normal indoor location and was a perfect alternative to an outdoor one. Thanks and much much respect from many

everyone else - If I forgot anyone I know, sorry as im still gathering my thoughts from the weekend but it wont be forgotten! And if i dont know you, say hi next time

and now onto the next one! We were going to have a BRAINCELL, OCELOT AND CTRL:ALT:DEL party.. but we may need to take a raincheck on that and slim down the lineup a bit hehe. but Ocelot will be around the midwest in a month so expect the next one to still be a wacky one Details soon..

..Until next time!

Hi. I've not forgotten about my experiences with you in the Uncharted Territory. I need to put fingers to keyboard while the memory of recalling them is still strong, though some of what I was a part of will probably stay with me with easy recall and smile to my face for a long time, if not always.

One thing I was tripping on as I was heading back. It occured to me that I had gone to Iowa for the express purpose of partying! What a concept. I guess I really have led a sheltered life in more ways that I realize. It's more than just partying and having good times, but that is my main objective, whether or not it ends in being the goal I actively persue, and yes it can be achieved with passiveness by just letting events go in such a way that it does, or if you don't have control of things, directly or not, being lucky enough to be in places where fortune has it work that way for yourself, or combinations thereof. As is often said of games and life in general. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than it is to be skillful.

Meeting and learning from people is something I really enjoy too. I will try to list them if I do indeed write a longer post about the Uncharted Territory.

Hi Drew! Next time get there earlier and play the tunes to show me that what we talked of at length in Chris's kitchen is something you're able to demonstrate directly to me so that I might gain understanding about your words in ways that words can't show what it is that you are telling me with your music and passion for it.

I am still thinking how lucky you all are to be able to see so many of the great people from this gathering the very next weekend. Green Sector put together a gathering in the park today for Earthdance. I was thinking about the Wisconsin gathering that some of you, er, all of you, were at while the long steady tone played after the prayer for peace. I'll have to research this Earthdance sometime, but I hope whatever small or large influence it might have upon the world and us people on it, that it moves us all towards less war and more peace. I continuously wish that people would realize that they don't need it all when there's plenty that they have already.

With, without, who'll deny it's what the fighting's all about.? Us and Them quote.
My dad had a lot quicker way of stating it, "The Haves versus the Have Nots"           - - -

Uncharted territory was incredible! It was nice reuniting with people as well as meeting new psytrance family. Artifakt's set was by far the best set I've heard in many years. It would have been worth going to just see him thrown down.

&

I have always wondered why people lived in the midwest let alone Iowa but after attending my 2nd mindoutpsyde event I finally understand! lol The people, music.. vibes its all amazing. There really aren't words that can describe the experience. Thank you Mindoutpsyde because not only are you providing rockin psytrance for the midwest you have branched out and become national. The spirit of Psytrance in the US dwells in the lands of Psyowa..

Thank you everyone!

I wish I could have Kevin. I got pulled over on the way to the show going 80 trying to get there, got the ticket and still managed to get there about 15 minutes after my set would have started, but the sound wasnt set up and ready yet, so even if I had been there on time I wouldnt have been able to play until the next morning and by the time airyck and abe were done I was exhausted after being up well over 24 hours. anyway there will be plenty of opportunities for vaxinating psyowa.

I had an absolute blast, every set I heard was top notch on point goodness. It was nice getting to really rock out for a change, I was lonnng over due for a good session on the dancefloor.

I really enjoyed meeting all the new people that I did and reconnecting with all my old friends. I love you guys, you make it worth the drive everytime. I think we really have it made in the midwest, we may not always have the numbers, but we have the heart.

I wish I could have caught friday nights festivities as I heard it was nothing short of AWESOME. I know that saturday rocked my world. from machi starting it off humming to random rocking out, then niki taking it and twisting it around the world to the squirmy side of things, then artifact dropping it in crisp concise drops everytime, and then till bringing in the morning perfectly, it hit the spot.

keep it goan guys! I hope to see you all down here later this month for spectra, its going to be one hell of a shindig and we have plenty of room to camp and one hell of a show planned.           .:.vaxination.:.
