Hi, I have Seen this dewd play in some party where noone even knew who was this dj, but his name was in line up. However it seemed like the dj-guy has no idea of how to mix or does not have any sense of sound balance; loud and noisy middles totally no bass, I concluded for myself that it must be an amatuer dj, even the trax sequence was not making any sense, and to be honest nobody was dancing. All people retired to drink and smoke cause it felt much better at the moment dj "wannabe" Collision was playing. Must not promote ur amatuer skills untill u learn some more. Just an advice for you. in my opinion u kind of suck.....

no idea what you are talking about dude, Chris has some of the best technical skills of all the Midwest DJs... his mixes are on point, his tracks are nasty and well chosen, and his sets tend to flow smoothly and tell a story throughout.

not sure if you caught a bad set or maybe you were simply too intoxicated to appreciate what he was doing, but i surely have never witnessed the things you speak of. your opinion sounds subjective and foolish, not professional at all, it is almost as if you are taking personal stabs against Chris and not just giving your honest opinion of his DJ skills...

i have lived with Chris for almost 2 years now, and known him even longer than that, and Chris will never even come close to "sucking" as you put it. he does his research, keeps up to date with brand new tracks and releases, and as i said, his mixing skills are top-notch due to passionately practicing for nearly 4 years now.

Can I please get a mod for funabik. And all of the quotes people made concerning it to (just quotes of his post, no need on their personal msgs). Its like a disco dj in iowa city thats angry at the MOP scene decided to hate or something.

What party was it that you saw me at Funabi? what is your name? does anyone else on this site know who you are? Or are you just an envious and bitter person?

I make sure to pack a dancefloor everytime, and if something isnt working because of a particular crowd, then I adjust properly to make sure it grows. When I play out of state I make sure to organize a set of epic proportions every time. And FYI, I will never bring a bad performance.

My mixing skills are very good, I have been one of the original Mindoutpsyde djs and have taught others as well. You name the style or time of night and Ill bring it properly, along with a great dancefloor presence before and after my set.

now im going to post up those new demos very soon

I'm sorry but this is absolutely unsubstantiated non sense. Perhaps if anyone actually knew who you were or the reasons prompting this post there may be a slight degree of credence to what's been said here..I would urge anyone who's reading this thread to disregard this post and listen to the mixes that have been linked in the topic post - Even a brief viewing of the mixes will speak volumes for how ill-judged and off the mark these comments are. Chris' mixing abilities for the niche he's found within the psy-trance sound are impressive and seamless to say the very least. I'm sure there's many people who've experienced a set of his who would feel and say mutually. I'd love to know where you saw Collision play when there was no dance floor and people preferred smoking and drinking to grooving out. "loud and noisy middles totally no bass" - lol, give us a break novice eared man. In my opinion you have no clue what you're talking about nor do you have any rationality behind these vapid comments.           'You cannot explain to a caterpillar what it's like to be a butterfly'

well...to start deleting unfavorable posts would lead us down a slippery slope and set a dangerous precedent...duplicate accounts created for the purpose of slander always deserve to be investigated, however...but maybe it's all for the best. any promotion is good promotion, right? and that post seems to have mobilized much more support from familiar and credible sources

on a side note...in my opinion, dj demos have hardly any worth as promotional tools for booking purposes. recording a mix and playing live require very different skills. also, there is no way to verify whether a dj set was actually recorded by the credited dj, what kind of editing may have been done, how much planning was put into the set, etc. dj demos are great to have though for entertainment. if you have solid feedback from your dj gigs, that should be enough to get you booked for more

I disagree. While what you said is true, providing a mix(s) helps the potential organizer/promoter understand what type of sound (sub-genre etc) they may expect if they did ask said DJ to attend and share their sound..I can vouch and be testimony to the fashion in which these mixes were recorded and that they were, in fact and obviously, recorded by Chris - himself. I have full confidence that the posted mixes would provide a direct reflection and glimpse of what someone ought to expect out of him. Recording a mix on CD Jays and playing live on CD Jays is pretty darn similar - the DJ just needs to be able to switch up the direction of their set depending on the dance floor reaction. Other than that and the energy level while playing live, what's the difference?           'You cannot explain to a caterpillar what it's like to be a butterfly'

I'm pretty sure anyone who would book Chris will disregard what that guy said cause it's the exact opposite of the truth.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

Your definately in for a little treat if you book Collision. I've seen him many many times throughout the midwest and he never dissapoints. He has so much energy when he's playing it makes him very fun to watch. He's one of my personal fav dj's in the midwest and me and my gf wakeup to his mix almost every morning.

So much positive energy so much passion for the music. So much diversity like he said ranging from great morning to awesome twilight depending on what time he's booked for. Really really dig his track selections.

Anyway good luck on your journey Chris but don't be gone too long we will miss your energy here in the midwest! Have a safe trip!

I thought his set was great when I saw him. are you sure you weren't trying to listen from a bathroom stall through a cardboard tube or something? or maybe you were still in your car. or at the wrong venue.

I book Chris all the time.

No idea WTH that dude is talking about, but hes's a great DJ.

His flag isn't from USA so maybe he heard some other Collision? It can't be a unique name worldwide...           Spacecamppsyfari.com
