hey reece
if you want to gate an audio signal in logic try this (see if you can follow me) - send the signal you want to gate to a bus (say bus 1) and then put a noise gate on this bus, then set the side chain on the noisegate to trigger the gate from another bus(say bus 2) then set up an instrument (say an es2 or whatever) and then send this signal to the bus that is triggering the gate (bus 2 in this example) then just adjust the threshold,attack/decay & the es2 signal until the desired effect is achieved.
or, you can run a side chain signal into es1 and you can use the filters as well as the envelopes (and oscillators). I only just recently found all the alternate waves in es2!!!! pity you can't run signals into it's filters

cheers nath,
yup the first option definately works, really doesnt seem like
the easiest way to do it tho...
there must be another way to gate a signal without
having to run a softsynth?
