High music friends,
Acutally this was the reason and my first question why I joined this forum or registered to say it better.
Back than nobody answered with a helpful advice to my thread and I still have not solved this and please you for advice.
I wanna record my sounds from my elecribe sx directly in cubase.Stlll after almost 2 years I only record all my sounds as audio to wavelab,and it lacks of quality - some noise is always there.After filtering it out it looses often frequencies that I like.
How to set it correct in cubase 4..?
I once got a synchronization but could not see anything (maybe midi through)in cubase I could only hear it that it is in synch and korg reacts on space in keyboard and tempo of cubase,but I could not see any channel in cubase that was new for external midi sounds.So I could not record this channel seperately.
I know it has to do with the clock signal.I set mine in korg to ext but this mofo does not react... I connected midi in from korg to midi out from soundcard.
What did I miss? Please help me to solve this out...
Best would be with full sentences and not codes.
I want to have a crystalclear signal without noise.
I think I have someting to change also in cubase but since I'm using now cubase 4 I could not get it or find it.
Any help would make me really superglad.

I think of bouncing korg from cubase to audio must be a way of better way for it.Throughout midi and not chinch.

the electribes have a certain noise lvl. if u record them there is no way without noise. you can try a denoiser plugin to process it after recording.
when u synchronize cubase with ur electribe, u only send the clock of your master (in your case cubase) to your slave (electribe)... means tempo, start and stop.
if u want to record the midi data from your electribe into cubase you have to go from midi out (e-tribe) to midi in from your interface.
dont know how it works exactly on e-tribes and cubase.
in general u need 1 midi track in cubasefor each midi track you want to record from your tribe (max 16). assign a midi channel from 1 to 16 in your tracks in cubase. assign the same midi channel in your e-tribe. for each trrack you need a different midi channel. press play and record it.
this way it should work to record your midi data from your e-tribe to cubase.
it will only be midi - not audio  |

And when you want to have audio from your electribe you have to convert from midi to audio in Cubase. There are several ways to do this but in Cubase 4 the easiest way is the following.
Create audio channel.
put its output to "no Bus"
put its input to "main outpus/stereo out"
record.
However this will record everything so you have to either solo the channel you want to record each time you do this or just use the bounce feature.

I tried also all possible denoiser,deesser,x -noise ,z-noise ,filter etc..there really always is a noise hope when it is in midi in cubase it might get somehow better after bouncing to audio and it will be for sure in a perfect synch.

have to correct my last post a bit.
Of coures it is easy to get clean with these plug ins but if I have for example a high passed sound (HPF as effect)of a higher octave or just high frequencies maybe with some reverb or sth else or more then I loose always too much what I'd like to transform.IF I do not want to have all that noise,and this part maybe somewhere even on solo.

i think you want 'internal midi clock'
and check V in those 2 boxes with MC master and MC slave.
turn the local off in the electribe.
should work i think 
oh maybe check the m-audio midi too in both boxes below
for the noise i can only suggest x-noise and noise-gates.. if its internal from the source not much you can do.. www.sattelbattle.com

I gonna check it all,have fun again in seq with vsti but this is necesseary to me and advice makes a lot clearer all.Thanks a lot!
Following instruction on the fly I'm really a step futher,the patterns follow...yeah..now I just must hear it hehe gonna solve it.

noise gates... yesss had again such prob with a very high sound and the crackle or plop sometimes was almost unerasable.. Gonna check it.Peace

I now have the problem that the sound is only on left speaker... (and I can't record,or I dont see a note when in record mode even though tribe reacts.)
Can hear finaly sth and it is in sychro ,that's nice.
But one speaker is definetly not enough.Don't know why - have assigned both sides in the bus in f4 to my card.
In midi device I assigned to the kurweil preset since did not found anything how to assign one that isn't in the list.Could this be the wrong way.. ? Just wanted one sound in midi channel 1 thinking that should be standard.
Well gonna solve this out but maybe one knows what's going on and can write it.
