I have a problem.
I have a masterkeyboard which midi out goes into my computer its midi in.
My computer's midi out then goes into my Nord Rack.
But how do I get my Nord Rack transmitting midi information if I cannot connect both my Nord Rack and masterkeyboard at the same time to my computers midi in?
Maybe I have to do some internal routings and stuff within my Creamware Pulsar soundcard?
Or are there other ways of having both devices connected and sending midi out to my computer? |

Only way to do this is to buy a midi interface like gutter suggested or to connect the master keyboard to the computer via USB (if possible).

does your keyboard have usb too?
maybe you could route the nord in/out and the keys in usb.
im my working enviourment the nord and virus and korg routed to each other and go into the midi out of the computer so they recieve midi signal and the keys in the other way , so it control all of them together according to which channel i choose. to make recordings i have to routher the synth parameters to the keys (very easy in FL)
kinda sorry i didnt got the full keys version ... but that works pefect for me im very used to this way of work

Upavas, I believe he's talking about sending midi in to the computer from the master keyboard and nord simultaneously. There's no way to do this with midi thru, and the Nord doesn't have one anyway..

If you're trying to send midi signal TO the computer from two devices simultaneously, it doesn't matter which way you use midi thru. The Nord doesn't have thru, so assuming the master keyboard does, if you connected the Nord's out to the master keyboard's in and the master keyboard's thru to the computer's in, then the computer would only get data from the Nord. If you did the same thing but used the midi out instead of thru, it would only get data from the master keyboard.
Thru is exactly the same as whatever data is coming through the midi in, but midi out does not go to the thru. If you were talking about signal coming FROM the computer, that's a totally different story.
And sorry if I'm totally wrong here, but this is the way I always understood thru, and a couple google'd pages confirm this:

From the standpoint of the keyboard, the MIDI out goes to a computer or another device. When you play notes on the keyboard, data goes out the MIDI out of the keyboard. It does not go through the MIDI Thru.
The Computer MIDI out passes through the Keyboard's MIDI IN and then to the Thru. The data coming out the keyboard MIDI thru jack is exactly the same as that which arrived at the MIDI in from the computer. However, and here it gets tricky, the data going out the MIDI out of the keyboard does NOT go through the MIDI thru. Only data coming into the keyboard goes out the thru.

I thought he wanted to trigger his synth with his Keyboard... in which case a thru should suffice. I depends if he can slave his sequencer to his incoming midi signal, then he should be able to trigger both simultaneously...
Regardless, since the Nordlead 2 does not have midi thru I would suggest to try Elads method. Or get a midi box...

when my keys usb worked , i pluged only usb cable to the computer and midi from the keys throu to the synth chain.. its not what you look for as it still only out from the pc and in from the keys.. but..
i still suspect if there is a free midi in (pc) then you could use that too.. with conecting the midi throu from the keys to the midi in of nord , and the nords out to the midi in of the pc... and you have to enable both the midi and the usb midi.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about the question...
I don't think that would fix the problem. That would send data from the master keyboard to either the Nord or the DAW, and as I understand it he wants to send midi to the DAW from both the Nord and master keyboard simultaneously, which is exactly what the original post says.
If you want to send data to your DAW from your Nord and master keyboard, a midi interface with at least 2 ins and 2 outs would be the best solution. You can't do this using midi thru, and you can't do it with just one midi in on your interface. You could also use something similar to that router but with two ins and one out, but imo an interface would be cheaper and better.
If you want to control the Nord and your DAW with the master keyboard without sending midi from the Nord to the DAW, then Mesq's suggestion would work.
