iPad is great so far for my wife who has a disability, the ability for her to read a book on it without having to struggle to turn pages in a paper nover mean she can finally enjoy reading without giving up due to frustration.
Her workplace has hired an I.T programmer to look at the possibility of developing an application that will allow them to publish internal documents on policy etc. for it so that she will also be able to work more easily.
I think that iPAd & other such products offer a vast array of possibilities in making life a lt more relaxed & efficient for people who have fine motor & other physical disabilities.
So no to the smart-arses... it's not just for Apple fan-boys, these have very useful real world applications for other humans as well.
BTW Macbooks also are extremely disability friendly compared to PC based laptops, so Apple is actually providing a number of extremely disability & user friendly products compared to most PC based companies

But the iPad has many other applications built for it that allows my wife to enjoy herself, such as games and other tools.
Also she finds the iPad much more user friendl than the kindle we had prior to it.

Cheers... yeah touch screen technology has so many wonderful applications for people with special needs.
My only concern is my wife's addiction to a silly game call Plant vs Zombie 
I really hope a good midi component comes out for the iPad as it would be great to just lug my macbook pro & ipad instead of all the other junk I use... especially when working with this cyber metal band I'm helping out with *sigh*

x 2... good on her for trying the idea though, would be great if this was improved upon and actually could work, would be so much fun to play with touch screen making tunes, would be great for just some good ol' acid techno!
