Just what I wanted to ask, as Ive just got a Nord Rack 2X, which I'm trying to use as a vst instrument controller. |

Go to:
Device - Device Setup
Remote Control
Click the + sign and hit Generic Remote
In the top pane, teach Cubase what each control name should be assigned to by clicking a control, and hitting learn as you tweak that control on your Oxygen.
Then in the lower pane, select what parameter each control should be assigned to.
A mission... I know. |

cubase sux and if only for that
midi learn is implanted in evry single other program
the generic remote is nice if you really love cutoff and realese but there is more parameters i like too....
with synth like albino tho you can use the internal synth midi learn
say thanx you dont need to mess with hardware on cubase.. like x10000 times easier and smoother with FL...

yeah, it's a COMPLETE ballache.
once you have mapped all the controllers on your midi device in the upper panel, be sure to hit 'Export' and save the file as a template... that way you can easily load at any time. Cubase will always use the last loaded Generic Remote template, too.
luckily many modern VSTi do have midi learn which bypasses Generic Remote... |

Okay, thx for the reply guys/girls. Ill try it out. After i sold my virus (big mistake, i know) i bumped in to this. I had no problem with controlling my virus from cubase, its not the same, i know, but that was a lot easy'er to get around. Anyone know if this is improved in C4/CS4? |
