Midi Keyboard. Buy it?

I'm sure i won't have any chance to buy synths in nearest future but i have access to cds with samples and so on. Is it reasonable to buy midi keybord and use virtual samplers like Nemesis GigaSampler and so on?
If yes, please tell me what midi keyboards are better to buy? |

with a keyboard you actually can record yourself playing something. if you don't know how to play melody ... and you use arpegiator for it and you don't have musical ear, don't buy the keyboard,
as a matter of fact... don't bother buying a synth
what good will it do ?
without a keyboard with velocity sensitive keys, you'll have to draw every melody - lead, bass, drums etc.
with a keyboard/MIDI guitar it's much more intuitive to play parts, and you play it with chaninging velocity, which adds to the more "natural" sound.
besides, if you didn't know how to play keyboard - here's your chance.

Ok.I agree dat with MIDI keyboardwe can reach more realistic sounds as if theyare played alive.
But what can we do to recive not MIDI soundbut ANALOG like...I mean that Quality of MIDI sounds
higly depends on type of SOUND CARD...So what kind
of SOUND CARD do we need? |

ok D.J. Demon, very well, so we need
UW-SCSI disk for recording,
and a good audio recording card with many ins:
for recording 1-2-3 synths (maybe simultaneously) without playing with the connectors.
[below 2500 NIS]
take Delta66, Delta1010, Echo cards, Hoontech cards.
we don't need a card with
1 analog in/out & 6 DSPs for that.
[above 5500 NIS]
it's a lot of money, unless you eat&sleep on expense of somebody else (parents e.g.), and can work and save for the equipment without existantial worries.

Bilbo why did you decide that i can't play and have non-musical ear? if i asked for some tips on buying midi-keyboard it didn't mean that i can't play it...
i have musical education (piano) at least;) But i don't really know how it helps me to write music;) |
