Dude there's no such thing as "psy melodies"

Its regular notes all you are doing is playing around with the instrument that is making the sounds to make it sound more twisted..In most cases except for the cheesy neo-full on stuff you don't even use melodies just various sounds happening in the right sequence to give it that driving feel..

Practice makes perfect..i've been at it a year and i'm still learning everyday..Looking at someone's midi files won't help you a bit and as Narcosis said those are easily found on the net..           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

i think taking midi's from the internet can be good and not good at the same times... often i thought of "rippin off" 1/4 melodies and trying to change them into some thing that fits my track.... but this doesnt always work - the quantize has to be corrected, the scales might not fit.... lots of things really.... by the time i end up moving and fixing things, it doesnt really resemble what i wanted to emulate and therefore i was better off just doing something myself....
just my experience...

Tons of dutch/german trance midi files (Above and Beyond, Tiėsto, Ferry Corsten, Blank & Jones, Paul Van Dyk etc.)
Remenber: Doesn't exist psy melodies! It exists commom musical scales to you make your melody/chords. Do take some progressive track like Armin Van Buureen and use some psy presets available on Albino (free on the Net). put some drum samples and you will learn a lot doing that.

Can agree .. But why not to do them by yourself ?
Do you want other sounds in your music ?
I think you will like it much better if you will make them . Try it .

is there just those patches from Cosmosis as Psy artist?
Honnestly it's hard for me to find those magic and alien like by changing knobs of VSTis
Probably I need to read some books about how to generate those noises, but what is their names ?

Why the famous Psychedelic / Progressive trance artists don't share their tricks and tips about their special sounds ?

peace.

@ Yassinje

You don't need to read books to learn how to make those sounds..Just take one Vsti and sit down & try to learn how it works..Play some notes on loop and turn each knob & see how its modifying the sound..Once you play enough you'll start to know how to get those sounds you like..It takes a lot of experimentation..

I used to just use presets before and would look through hundreds of presets & vsti's until i found one i liked..Now i've realised you should just limit yourself to a couple of Vsti's & learn how to use them properly..

I would suggest starting off with Vanguard & Albino 2..They're two synths that can generate most of the sounds you hear in psytrance..

Good luck hope this helps!           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

Yassinje, you must learn synthesis, audio how to manipulate sound, wich waveforms do what...envelopes are for..lfo“s are.... understand how a synth works, there“s an order is not just start tweaking, there must be done acording to what you want to make and wich parameters will make that change.
