hi guys before you guys tell me to use search, i did. not too useful. please be nice if you could help me out and recomend something nice that i could use and build my studio up, that would be great i am a beginner, working with AB Live, but id rather get something nice then something cheap that i would have to sell in a year or 2
also something small so i can travel and play live without it being a full keyboard. thank you

Well the best one (imo) would be the Novation Remote SL 25 compact. You get quality keys, lots of knobs, faders & the automap feature which no other controller has.

just purchasesd the Novation ReMOTE SL COMPACT 25. The automap technology is amazing! Plus it makes for a decent Daw control surface. Love how the lcd screen shows all my channel names and parameter values.

with the compact being 2 / 4 octave does that mean i will have trouble playing in high octaves, basicaly would i have to record a sequence in low, then if i want to go higher i would have to change the octave and overdub ? im sorry im new to these terms

Friend, get the novation.

all depends of your needs but get one with 25 keys wich will be more flexible.
My tip is to get a X-Station or a Xiosynth if you dont need to much controls. as you will get a very good synth with the controller and also a soundcard too.

I have a Xstation and the keys are better than my Virus Ti ones. The aftertouch is soo smooth i sometimes dont believe it only costs 450 U$.

And if you want to check his sounds take a look at www.myspace.com/williandiesel on the track Travel through sounds wich is basicaly x-station sounds.

Also you will have a hardware synth on your hands to to twist lots of knobs and won´t need to buy a soundcard.
This is the perfect stuff for someone who is starting now.
Later if you enjoy a lot doing this you will still have his good controllers and the synthesizer and will only get a better soundcard.
Hope this helped you.
