Hi all!
I am looking to buy a good midi controller and basically my main question is if it is worth buying something that is very easy and quick to use,but also costly, like the novation remote sl or if it better to get something like the m-audio oxygene or one of the edirol midi controllers, that are cheaper but you have to assign knobs, sliders etc.
Thanks in advance |

i have an ozone from m-audio and i love it it doesnt take up to much space with enough knobs but you might need faders to adjust volume levels but you can still do that with knobs so i guess what im sayin is, work out exactly what you need ALWAYS and write it down then look for a controller that has those options becuase midi controllers can range from 50 bucks to a few hundred dollars...

The SL is in a whole different league than the other controllers you mention.
If you want my opinion it's not about whether you can have everything automapped on the novation (which is a good thing for sure) but more about the feel each controller has and how it suits you. The SL is much more sturdy and has a great feel on the knobs and faders whereas edirol or m-audio are nowhere near that level. Go for the remote i say.
Cheers!
