I have the evolution mk-449c midi controler

My pc is 512 mb ram p4 2.4 ghz with hercules dj console/sound card 24 bit

I use flstudio 6 and experience a lag when using the controller with any plugin(vst) such as vanguard or albino

Why? Please help

Are you sure you're using the ASIO driver for the Hercules device in the FL preferences? If so, What is the latency setting at?

Yes, first of all check the asio latency in options->audio.
It might me set too high -> lower it.
Also, when you right click-> link to controller , play with the smoothing knob (or disable smoothing) untill you get a good result ... that should do it            Peace, Love, Death metal

try using ASIO4ALL http://www.asio4all.com/ instead of the hercules ASIO drivers.
might work...

Check for an update from Hercules... the ASIO driver is the key to having low latency, it's the whole point of buying a USB sound device.

I've heard good things about ASIO4ALL but I doubt it will be an equal replacement for properly functioning hardware.

first try to lower the latency using the sound card's original drivers,
the lower latency, the less ammount of devices (vst plugins, etc) you will be able to play at the same time without popcorn or strange noises.
you should be able to reach and keep latencies between 60 to 150ms without problems,
if this doesnt work give the ASIO4All a chance, but they are made for cards without asio driver support/design... like the soundblaster live series and all the onboard shitty stuff.
