if you work in cubase sx, or sx 2, just record the needed "knob" and u will get an automation line added to this midi track, just toggle this tiny + icon on the midi track and u will see it.

I know, but i have some problem with this - the automation does not record anything not from any knob (not from vst inst- i can only automate the mixer)

but if i change it manually by the controller it's working, but thanks anyway

Why not? What program are you using?

Using automation will be much more accurate than controllers, since they only accept 128 values.

in pro-53 there is a the midi cc list by clicking on the pro-53 logo, it is a text file. You can you use midi learning in this program in order to assign any controller knob/fader to any parameter. The same thing works in z3ta click on options, midi controller map and a text file will come up. z3ta also has midi learning. I currently use my ks4 assigned to most parameters on z3ta+ to edit the sounds in real time, just by using the midi learn function

You press the W button on top of a vsti and it doesn't create an automation channel?

That's right, it's not recording the automation, even with the W and the record button (*)
