Midi Controller automation of FX (Antares Filter, Ohmboys, etc)?

OK I figured out how to work with midi controllers for VSTis but what about insert FX? How do u get to automate those? DO you setup 2 midi channels or something? one for the vsti and one for the fx insert? im a bit confused. And for Cubase Generic Remote, how can you "see" the parameters of the Insert FX as opposed to the VSTi? thanks! |

yes exactly, set up a midi channel that controls the vst-fx. the plugin should be selectable on the midi track just like a vst-i.
most newer vst-fx will allow midi learn for cc's.
for the old ones you're heading to the right direction. generic remote should allow to select the plugin right at the top. then set up the configured cc number to the paramters in the lower window.
Personally I've given up working with plugins that are not midi learn enabled. |

thanks bro. i figured out how to use generic remote with VSTis. But the problem is, i dont see the VST FX attached to my VSTis anywhere on the generic remote config menu for the old fashioned way of assigning CCs. |
