I've just got a midi-keyboard, and have a question. Is it possible to re-assign the MIDI CC messages that it's knob controllers send?
I need it, because, for example, in DiscoDSP Discovery, and other plug-ins, some controls are assigned to certain CC. And it's impossible to "midi-forget" them.
As far as I understand, I need some kind of software, that will operate "between" the midi out of the keyboard, and midi-in of the DAW, and will retranslate the midi CC messages.
Or, i need software, that will re-assign the controllers of the keyboard, via USB.
Huh
Hope it is clear, any advices?
PS
I'm using M-Audio KeyRig 25 (USB) and Reaper as DAW.

hi Medea
i assume you have already checked your controller's manual if it supports reassigning its internal midi cc mapping.
are you using cubase? you have different options:
use its input transformer.
-----------------------------
1. set up a new midi channel
2. set its midi input to receive from your midi controller
3. on the midi channel, go to the input transformer (check your cubase manual about this) and set it to local
4. define that it should act on midi cc (using type is..) and then set the action to change the cc to a fixed other cc
unfortunately, you cannot add many different mappings, only 4
if you're on cubase (studio) 4, use its quick controls!
cheers and good luck
