6. WALDORF WAVE (Awesome Sound/Look/Price synth)
Note: Wave is almost the Microwave II/XT, except for: it is able to make resynthesis and have an analog filter (Microwave I has analog filter as well).

9. Concrete FX Kubik (it's a real wavetable synthesis)
Amazing new soft synth...

Other soft synths like Vector Sector (vector synthesis) from General Vibe and Wavestation (wavesequencing synthesis) from Korg use a similar theory principle, but implement them in a different way.

I have a Microwave XT and I'm trying to buy a Microwave I, because it has an analog filter (the Waldorf's analog filter is a terrific monster!). Waldorf Microwave is a powerful awesome synth, amazing for atmospheric pads/strings, industrial noises and melodic noises for sound design. In fact, transitional synthesis (wavesequencing, vector, ensoniq transwave, wavetable etc.) is amazing to come up with new sounds, if you want to make something different from the overused analog/virtual analog stuff (you know, Virus, Nord lead, Jupiter, Juno etc.).
Another great machine is Ensoniq Fizmo, wow dude, it's really amazing.

Great tip: use resynthesis on Camel Camaleon 5000 or Virsyn Cube in order to make great sounds. Forget sampling for while and use resynthesis. I have been using a lot of resynthesis, wavetable, vector synthesis and the amazing Virsyn Tera/Steinberg Xphraze (wow sound designers, these are the monsters!).

i agree, those wavetable synths are great... in software you have the NI absynth and the freeware crystal from green oak.

btw, all waldorfs have a huge sound... They are loud and they always sound good... I really like mine...

Thanks Sonik ;-)

Yesss i´m getting into it. I have had one a year ago, but i never got into it then i sold it because someone gave me much more for it than i paid. Now i got one for a awesome price and i just bought it. It seems that the time which has passed worked for me, i just switched the thing on and thought - what was there that was so strange last time ;-)
So it seems i´m in love now. Its not complicated anymore , and it was fucking complicated when i had my first one....
Now i begin to realize the potential of the beast.
I would say, better than virus and nord lead - just because - as u say - they are overused and there are good emulations. Wavetable gives u just more Sonic possibilities. Ok The virus has this saturation thingy and good phaser and good filters ( but just with the saturation ;-) ) and the NOrd lead has good fm and a heavy filter too - and fast envelopes...
But really, the Microwave is just better and more unique. Harder to understand but better in the end , lol...

So thanks thanks , now its tweakingtime

Cheers
