I have the chance to get a second hand and cheap (so to speak) microkorg.

I know its not a synth for sound design more out of the box sounds, anyway is it any good??? is it worth buying?? i have no intentionb to use for psytrance im mostly making other genres.

I would really appreciatte some sort of review or opinion from a user o ex user

i got one and love it , the sound is amazing.

you can design the sound as well , its inside the options wheels

only if u have chunky fingers think again the keys are so small....

I owned one and sold it. Stupidest mistake when it comes to music I ever made. It's a sweet and intuitive synth + it's cheap. I even like it more than the virus kb I now have. it was much quicker and speed (not the dope) is everything to me in music production (that's why I'm still a fruity user btw:))

If you can get your hands on one for 200-250€: do it.           http://www.soundcloud.com/bandarlog

i got one, it was nice but not for psytrance, and it's like a toy, the keyboard is unseful you can't play with that. Sounds good but for the price but i sugget to wait when i'll have more money and buy something better. IMHO

i own one and i think it was worth the price for how much bang it has. It was easy to learn and the presets are pretty killer. I used it alot when i was making hard trance. but have't used it to much recently since my switch to software. i know that anyone could make some good psy leads, bass and effects with it because it has all the features of most synths and a 4 patch modulation matrix with assignable mod/pitch wheel.

only 2 oscs and four note ployphony though....

but id recommend it for anyone that want a great hardware sound for cheap. but other hand theres alot of VSTs out there that have more parameters for much much cheaper. hope that helps

tb303 had one oscillator and one note polyphony but that didn't stop it from changing the music world

I also have one. I enjoy it a bunch -- it helped me learn a lot of synth basics and it produces a bunch of nice sounds. The vocorder is also really fun to play with. It was my first synth, but now I use it mostly as a controller.

good sides

awsome sound very FAT
vocoder
all sound is 100% designable
very cheap
portable

bad side

keys are abit too small
4 poly max
to design the sound u have to get throu matrix
only 1 midi channel at the time , no multi

bottom line for its price its the best purchase ive done
my nordrack is not in use last 2-3 months but the korg sure is

How does it compare to the Micro X ? Would you recommend the Microkorg for a first hardware synth ? î just figured out that a virus ti would be too much money right now, and beside I don't really care if the microkorg isn't perfectly suited for psytrance...

Besides, knowing that this lil' thing was used by the Prodigy makes me think this must pack some nice punch ...

Itis most definitely an ideal synth to start with PsyTiax. If you're going for a hardware synth but don't want to spend too much cash: this is your deal! Besides, you can use the knobs as midi controller too. I've done a lot of livesets using my microkorg as midicontrol.           http://www.soundcloud.com/bandarlog

Thanks for the reply : ) Oh yeah, one more thing, how does the integrated vocoder stands compared to a dedicaced vocoding solution ?
