Hello, well i was expecting as many of you the release of michell adamsons debut album on agitato. It was supposed to come out on 5th of july, but searching through the internet shops i found nothin. This is what i found on her personal site. It is sad to hear this type of news. I personally agree for the free distribution on mp3 (as what analag pussy did for a track "Future"on their latest album, and received a massive response), although on the other hand, i feel really bad she and her workmates arent receiving enough money due to their hard work. Below is what she wrote.
6.06.05 very sad to report i am again having problems with agitato and it seems impossible to contact them. i don't know what is going on with the album right now except that they told me it was at the manufacturers over a week ago and would be released "everywhere" on July 5th. i asked for specific places so i could post here where you might find or buy it and they would only tell me that "it will be everywhere". they also emailed me to inform me that due to their private calculations i will only be paid 570 euros for the album. this is 14 tracks made with the most killer producers of our scene. the usual minimum for a track on a comp is 500 dollars. with my 570 euros i will be able to pay the amazing folk that helped me (ie did most of the production work) between 10 and 20 euros each. that doesn't even cover the cost of tea drunk let alone studio hire and time. i am shocked. i am also debating releasing my album for free download as at least that way the music will be heard. the artwork was made by my friend Emily (see links). if anyone knows what i should do or has a huge server for the album please post on the forum.

Well, If all these things are true, I am really sorry for Michele, but as we already know, our world is not made by sweets and sugar....especcially the Biz-enviroment. I am very surprised that she did not arrange in advance any kind of contract/agreement on the amount and form of payment with the record label.
I repeat, If her statement is real, then, she may have a great voice and excellent singing skills but as an entrepreneur she fails.....and unfortunately in the society of today (mostly western based society) everything is about business...
Keep on producing excellent vocal Michele...

masa hiko it's nice you feel touched by this problem but i think it is not an hasard if michelle didn't open a thread herself about this issue. She may know that this place is not the one for it.
So thank you for the info, and we all hope this issue will be fixed fairly, but let's support her in her own forum.
