Well, I'm not sure what classifies as "hard times"... I don't think I've had it the easiest, but compared to many (the majority) of people around the world, I've certainly had it good, and for that I'm grateful. I'm also grateful to the people in my life who have selflessly given so much in order for me to be where I am today. I thank those people every day.

Like what was mentioned before, people around the world die every day from things like starvation, bombs, curable diseases, commercial exploitation, and worse. HORDES of people, sadly. Most of them die relatively anonymously, and we as a society exploit them in their lives (whether or not we as individuals choose to or even are aware of it) and for the most part we as a society turn a blind eye to their suffering. Those are the sorts of people I feel compassion for, and would never joke about... and when I experience a vastly disproportionate hullabaloo over one person's death, it's hard for me to be sympathetic instead of cynical, especially when it seems that their early, sometimes very tragic, deaths were largely due to the choices they made instead of circumstances beyond their control.

I have had people very close to me (some of whom I mentioned above in this post) die to things like suicide, drug addiction, dangerous hobbies/undertakings, etc. Yes it is sad that things turned out the way they did. But what happened to them largely had to do with the choices they made, and if ordinary people like you and I have the power to enact change in our personal reality at any time, people like Michael certainly did, too.

Death is a natural thing, and for a great many people, regardless of background or upbringing, it is a release from their suffering. That's not something to cry over. There's a difference between that and having sympathy.

It's hard for me to understand how someone can be so bent out of shape over a single person's death (a person who led a very fortunate life compared to most) when thousands the world over suffer and die all the time and most of us pay a lip service remark, shrug our shoulders, and go about our day as if nothing TRULY tragic is happening.

because MJ touched all those people who are so bent out of shape in a way that made them who they are today. maybe you don't like his music and that is fair enough, but an awful lot of people the world over, loved his music, hence the impact and reaction his death has had. and by mourning for jackson does not make the hordes of people all over the world that die tragic and unfair deaths, any less unfair or any less tragic.
you seem to be taking this whole issue completely the wrong way.

and it does seem that you had it good in your life, from what you are saying, which is great, but in order to understand why someone is bringing so much harm in their way, you have to bring your self into the same situtation. reasoning about unreasonable situations, will not help you understand.

I'm certainly open to those possibilities. I can't say I can put myself into his or anyone else's shoes to be able to truly understand. I can only draw from my own experiences and what has shaped me. I can certainly concede to that.

I'm not sure even if I could do that, though, that I would still understand, because from my own experiences, both in my own life and those around me, that oftentimes even they (or I, at different times in my life) do not understand what they are doing to themselves or why.

I do think people have the power to change their lives, more than they realize or are willing to admit. Especially someone like Michael who had the world as their oyster.

At any rate, you make some sensible points in this thread. (Much better than "stupid cunts" ) I do appreciate it and thanks for the exchange of words.

I must say that regarding issues about abusing children you shouldn´t really trust media. no one knows anything about this for certain and from a mature standpoint we shouldn´t make any false/true accusations regarding MJ having creepy stuff going on. people wanted his money and as soon as he got vulnerable through media everyone wanted to have a piece of the cake. this is what I think and no one should actually talk about things they can´t confirm under any circumstance. I haven´t got a tv or radio for over 5 years now so I am not exposed to it, I make up my own mind about things instead of grasping other peoples stories and applies to my own reality.

+1           the problem with valuing art is, till u dont understand it, it's worthless but wen u do understand it, it's priceless!!

Jackson was accused two times for being a pedophile,on the second case he was found NOT GUILTY ON ALL COUNTS on June 2005 and on the first case he settled the thing out of court for 22 million dollars so the case closed because of lack of evidence.

Since we are talking about being moral here or not if someone had molested my son i wouldnt settle even for 1 billion dollars but for some reason Evan Chandler (the father of Jordan Chandler who claimed that MJ had molested him) decided that money were important than having his son molester sent to jail. What to expect from a person who said "If I go through with this, I win big-time. There's no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever...Michael's career will be over".

If you want to believe a father who accepted money to shut his mouth and forget about his son molestation then thats fine about me since it shows how moral you also are and how you would act on a similar situation.

But unfortunately the tabloids need scandals to sell and not happy times stories and thats why a lot of people remember MJ being a pedophile although he was never ever found guilty on such an accusation. The power and brainwashing of the media in its full glory.

Now go back to your tv because Jerry Springer show is on.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!
