Whats wrong with auto save?

No problem...its good! probably is my bad english you can´t understand...I´m trying to say that autosave of ableton is lovely...because run over the undo history...no more problems with unsaved actions...I don´t know about the other DAW´s but in other kind of software the autosave work saving the file minute a minute...but if you make something important on this interval you loose it...

Every time something good comes out when I write music, I hit command+S...when I am stoned I hit it thrice...better be safe than sorry innit.

hahahhaha

constantly hitting ctrl-s is a habit that subconsciously developed a long time ago. writing term papers in word, app code in visual studio, tracks in cubase... all the same.

Auto save and undo options. Back up to external drive at end of session.

the undo history will cover you to your last auto save if u have set them up properly.

One tip I picked up somewhere....you can post useful documentation or reference material as your desktop wallpaper. Bonus if you use multiple monitors. I have some frequency range info on one monitor at the moment. Putting up a list of your shortcuts might help too.           Keep The Faith,

In Cubase: <ctrl><alt>S (<command><alt><s> I guess on a Mac) saves a new version of the file with an incrementally-numbered name... no more saving a huge mistake over the last good version...

Also in Cubase, the auto-save only auto-saves when the transport is stopped; if you've been editing for an hour whilst playing back, you'll have had no auto-saving action until you press stop. It's good to be aware!           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

<ctrl>s then <ctrl><alt>s is a great combination for when you've just finished tweaking something, saves the current version then starts off a new one.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering
