a short note,might be offtopic..
i'll use me as an xample...i'm into trance since '98, (tho i'm not a heavy weekend raver),and untill recently, i thought i know what trance is... until some cute filesharin proggy changed it all, and untill now, i'm in shock, so many styles, labels, groups&projects i never even heard of...trance became a gigantic octopus with tens of diffrent arms(styles etc..), i'm completly lost...

i'll even assume that a big portion of the ppl (60,000 or whatever number u want, other trance fans in israel which don't know isratrance.com) are just like me,
dazed&confused, without a clue bout what music is reefer decree / texas faggot /whatever (no offence intended, u know what i mean i assume) is gonna play, see a big name (it's like 'levi's'...), and think "this must be good...", and at the end get disappointed..

imho 1st thing i think we should all do, is recommend isratrance.com to just about alllll
psy ravers&friends as we can..
the site&the forum are freakin gr8, and i think lot's of ppl could benefit from it, and define/refine their taste(s) better..

2nd,
this sounds allmost impossible, but what if the experienced senior members(or anybody else which is pretty much confident bout his knowledge..), who i assume all know trance from a-x (nothing is perfect..) try to compile such a roundup, and put some sense into the mess(haruz!).. ?
(am i beeing hatzuf?...sorry;)

oooooooppsss...accidently opend a new topic...this is actually my reply to 'the israely paradox'...

yeap , nothing like the Forum look , actually we should open a topic about a connection between trance and internet , coz it's obviously very strong one ... personally , listening to electronic music from 98 also (and then i didn't have a clue about computers ) only like 2 years later when i discovered how many info about trance ( well , and about anything else ) u can find through internet i realized how huge the world of it ... well , now it sounds so banalic this internet issue ...
and this forum ... well , it should be recomended to any trance lover no doubt .. welcome to the blue room           Dance is my Trance

mukus, comparing A dissapointmant from a big named rave and Levi's Jeans is a bit streatching it, don't you think?
anyways, i'll concur with wako. as for the second subject, well, no comment..           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

Well, I didn't really know much about trance when I started listening to it - but by late 1995, after all of the record shop owners in my hometown got to know me on a first name basis, I became pretty knowledgeable. When I was in the army, I didn't raid the record shops like I used to, so I just relaxed with my nice goa collection. I joined the forum as a very strong anti-minimalist (in the goatrance tradition), but after slowly debating with people about everything - I found out that progressive music is great, that minimal can be good (and not only progressive), that full-on has some great moments... I can't define the stuff I like today better than "music with a story to it" nowadays.

And as for definitions - well, just read posts about the subjects you want to know about. It's all here.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222
