well now that i know the menor and mayor scales. i would like to ask help about which ones i use in most of the times for electronic music
i heard that the menor are the most used in trance,
example in the bass could use the c menor
and get 1 3 5 4 grades of the scale, and made a bass line so nice.acording to the scales are perfect. right!?!?

minor and major?
well depents on the mood you want to acieve.. minor makes easier dark and melancholic feelings.
major gives a more happy more uplifting sense.. ( theoretically )
but always depents on the overall notes combined together and how scales are build to achieve the feel of a track.

very theoretically ....
most "hora" songs (old israeli classic happy dance style) made in minor scale
vision dream - time to learn phrigian aeolian and gypsy scales (or modes)
they make really nice moods

There are more than just major and minor keys
there are 8 "modes" in traditional western music, that are made by basically taking the same pattern and shifting it (so you take the same sequence of notes, and depending on which note you start on, you have a different mode: C ionian is D dorian is E phrygian is A aeolian is B locrian...)

thx for the introduction to terrafractyl. wow. i wanted to combine classic with psy for a long time. this is so good. I even started getting Rachmaninoff midis to play around with, it was to difficult for me at the time to make something decent of it.
+ i don't want him rolling around in his grave if i make a mess of it. respect
Glad to know there is music like this being made.
Thx again.

You can also use ascending scales (Melodic Minor) for Build up parts of the song and descending scales (Natural Minor) for PreChorus parts and then maybe the major relative of the scale for Chorus.
This gives a very story like theme to the song. But you need to know what you're doing in order to make it work. |
