Menog is Daniel Bernardo aged 24 from Portugal. He has been a musician since the age of 10 playing various instruments like the guitar and drums and started producing trance music in the year 2000.He is considered to be the most upcoming artist of his country and now here he comes with his debut album Natural Behavior on the greek based Starsound Records.

Tracklist

01.Menog-Someone Else
02.Menog Versus Xrc-Metamorfose
03.Menog Versus Shrink-The Others
04.Menog-Acid Trip (Remix)
05.Menog Versus Mr.Peculiar-Brahma
06.Menog-Natural Behavior
07.Menog-Menog
08.Menog Featuring Tryptamine 46-Nameless Fear

The album starts with a nice full on track,i like very much the scary backround melody and the funny samples (yes funny samples in a scary track hehe). This one gives you an idea of what is going to follow.
Tracks 2 and 3 are both average night full on tracks that show us Menog's style but nothing more than that.
The remix for Acid Trip is the best track in here, dark full on at its best with amazing backround melodies,if you are a dark type of listener then you will love this one.
Track number 5 works in two ways it will either make you dance like crazy or create you a headache, its a very hard track and how it will sound to you depends on your mood so listen to it twice before making up your mind.
Track 6 sounds a lot like GMS style, good track and nice try from Daniel here,if you like GMS then you will like this one for sure.
Track 7 is the worst track in this album for me,i like the bell sounds but i found the rest not interesting at all.
Finnally we have Nameless Fear, this scared the shit out of me,the track starts with the scariest vocals i have ever heard and i dont remember from which movie they are taken, maybe someone can help me with that? The track is really good until 05:30 minutes, after that i didnt liked its production and ideas.

Menog has a dark full on style and though i dont like dark music i have to admit that this kind of music will for sure do miracles on the dancefloor on the right time of a party.I have heard most of the tracks on a big sound system and believe me they sounded great and the feeling was tottally different from listening this album at home.If you are into dark styled music then just buy this one without second thoughts,if you prefer more morning and melodic tunes, just like me,maybe you will get surprised from this artist and his kind of work.Worths listening no matter in which category of listeners you belong.

Give me Menog anyday at a party!

I really like the sounds he uses on this album but I agree Detox, a bit like Miraculix, the best is still to come

Very phat album still!
          Within this timeless gathering,
a shining light does dance,
lost from conscious memory,
but visible in trance!

The songs are ok - but they all sound much much better if you reduce the speed on your pitcher. In normal speed all the tracks sound to me a bit too hectic and are not groovy enough to catch me. The production itself is good , so i think we can expect much more from this artist.
And hey Detox: The Sample in Track no. 8 is from Lord of the Rings.... I agree with you that the Acid Trip rmx is the best track in this album but for me its still not groovy enough - it sounds just like a normal full on production which came out such a lot that this style is not catchy for me anymore.....
but - Keep up Menog !!!
you can´t have a revolution with the volume turned down !!!

I must say this album was a real surprise for me.
Menog is by far my favourite national artist, and i've seen him many times live. I bought this album just for the support he deserves, and honestly i wasn't expecting much from the album (i downloaded a few older unreleased tracks and they were mediocre).

But what a surprise! The whole album is very nice!

Tracks which blowed me away:
2 - incredible bass, very nice explosions
4 - best track on the album
8 - as dark as trance can get...

rating **** - worth buying

I want you to understand that this man at the wheel is my attorney. He's not just some dingbat I found on the strip, man. He's a foreigner. I think he's probably Samoan. But that doesn't matter, though, does it? Are you prejudiced?

I completely overlooked this release for the last few months... and when i heard it for the first time a few days ago, i couldn't believe that i had missed it entirely.
Anyway, better late than never.
Great work, Menog....
