This is a debut album from one of the scenes most original artists. A trip from 60s London to Hicksville US breaking the border by jumpin trains, riding out of it on Mescaline on a donkey in some backwater Mexican village and ending up on Mushrooms checking the pyramids in the jungles of Palenque? via a Trance party. An amazing audio jouney full of entertainment!
There are some fantastically original ideas that add a splash of humour and make the tracks stand out from the pack. The basslines, kicks and overall grooves are also different from the norm and while it may be a challenge to play in the peaktime hour at big parties alongside the current crop of big players from Israel, hitting play on this cd and getting into this new world of The Melovskys could prove much more rewarding! All aboard?

From their North London base, TIP have been high up the global trance wishlist since Goa Gil was in short trousers. Autumn 2005 has seen them strike a bit of a surprise with the launch of TIP New World, a sublabel kicking off its release schedule with an album from The Melovskys, and promising a different musical direction from the rest of the TIP World canon.
We caught up with TIP's label boss Rich to find out what the deal is... where things are heading, and what we can expect over the next few months....
So TIP New World then... what's the deal? What's the manifesto with the new label?
TIP New World is a new subsidary of Tip World where we aim to develop exciting new artists from new Trance territories and other, more alternative projects, that struggle to find a place on the busy TIP World schedule.
What's the thinking behind setting up the new label? It it because TIP's changed, or because the general scene's changed?
TIP hasn't really changed. It has always been about trying to give the current soundtrack for the great parties. The "latest and greatest" tunes from the scene. I suppose what has happened is the scene has changed. It's got bigger and the size of the parties has maybe affected the type of music played... the productions are bigger and faster and there are more effects and everything is fast moving. It doesn't take long for one artists idea to be copied repeatedly. Music now is written more with DJ's at big parties in mind.
TIP World is booked up until 2007 with projects, but sometimes we get an idea or an album from an artist (such as The Melovskys) which is equally valid as an album to Save The Robot or 1200 Mic's but we cannot find the space.
People expect us to release peak time, power trance and the new label gives us more scope to release albums that maybe have more listening pleasure but not the same dancefloor qualities. And it can also act as a testing ground for future TIP album artists.
Is it as significant as when you launched 10 Kilo?
No as 10 Kilo is a completely different label that reflects the upfront sounds coming from London's most cutting edge club scenes. It's artsists are well known in their fields. PFN has produced/remixed Sacha, Paul Oakenfold, Pink, Britney Spears, Public Enemy etc., PMT/Dirk Technic is massively popular and credible on the club scene. He was signed to Perfecto until we managed to get him on board. We have licensed his tracks to Erik Morillo, Ewen Pearson, Stanton Warriors etc. And Renegade Soundwave are pioneers of English dance music and everybody sights them as an influence...from the Chemical Brothers to Tiga. The genres we cover with 10 Kilo are electro-breaks and electro-house, breakbeat, tech-house and dub breaks.
How will New World differ from TIP World in terms of new releases?
The differences, musically, are minimal to the uninitated Psy Trancer. But having said that we are going to do an album soon from a Psy Trance well known UK artist that is very experimental (secret at the moment). Kind of chill out but so far out, original and fresh that it will sound unlike anything we have ever released before but really amazing!! We are very excited about it. It is some serious music!

And finally... what's the upcoming schedule for TIP World and TIP New World?
Well, 1200 Mics Live in Brazil was released just now, Save The Robot 10th October, The Melovsky's hits October 24th. Then we've got Johann Bley's Singularity on November 7th, TIP New World's debut compilation The Sound Maestros at the end of November.
