What's up? New here...
Looking for some emotionally charged melancholic tunes like
Carbon Based Lifeforms - Init
Solar Fields - The Road To Nothingness
Bluetech - Prayers For Rain (J.Viewz Remix)
Asura - Getsemani
ATB - Remember That Day
Haven't been able to find much like the above... Any suggestions?

Hi kingoftomorrow,
You can find my tracks at www.xerxes-music.com The track mentioned by seChZ is on Selected Works - Jørgen Bryde.
Most of my tracks are pretty melodic and chill, so feel free to check out some of the other stuff there as well

Woo that ATB-Track sounds surprisingly good. I am surprised, because I thought ATB is pure commerce music, but he seems to have grown older and wiser.
If you like that ATB-Track, you most probably will love Chilling Matenda.

I agree, the new Aes Dana album is quite melancholic in some tracks. That also goes for the H.U.V.A. Network - Ephemeris album for me, it's kind of a similar style to my ears. Anyway, you seem to know Solar Fields, Asura, CBL, which are imo the masters of such music. You should really check out anything produced by them if you haven't done so already.
Some more tracks you might like:
- Easily Embarrassed - Blurred Clouds Under The Gloomy Moon
- Eitan Reiter - Choices
- Unstable Elements - Martian Atmosphere
- Hol Baumann - Benares (Varanaci Edit)
- Cydelix - Anama
- MLT - Exotic Grenadia
- Downhill - Three Years Drought
- Downhill - Ground Effects
OH! And I think you never heard of this before but many will love it... It's one of my all-time best albums. It's "Kattoo - Megrim". It's kind of bombastic, soundtrackish, IDMish, emotional. His two albums after that are pretty nice too.

And I know it's not strictly chillout/ambient, but this has got to be one of the most melancholic tracks ever!!! And it's superchilled as well. You may like it?

Thanks for all the suggestions
Really enjoyed Easily Embarrassed, AstroPilot, Xerxes and Vibrasphere
I should add that i'm not really into psychedelic 'Shpongle' sounding artists like Binah and DownHill. Or perhaps it's just me that finds those artists like that?
Any other contributions will be greatly appreciated
