so here is a question, what eq do you use on melodys... is there a specific octave you need to play them in do you use c3 or is that not important? What is the general feeling ? |

generally it is a good idea to cut off the really low freqs from your lead lines to obtain a cleaner mix

is this below 60hz or higher? i am tryeng to create separetion in my tracks i usualy cut out below 60hz on bass, i give a little low end and high mid boost on baa drums for that punch and i boost cymbals at about 1.5khz to make them cut through the mix...
this sound great when i get my initial loop going..
but then i get to mid range noises and melodies i tend to put a low cut filters on these abd some times i cut the top end... this ends upi in me not liking the noise because the power of it has been lost from cutting out the top end or all my synth lines are too
high and everything seems to be squashed at the top... any one have a good tip on how i can avid this and keep a good layer of sound going...
i have used pan before to move things out of the wy so more fits in ... but i was told the sound systems in clubs are mono.. ? any help |

Most clubs I've played are in mono. Only smaller venues have been in stereo.
