You can use hundreds of things.
Velocity, Cutoff & Rezo, Panning (yea), lots of effects, dunno... |

He asked what makes it go up and down, not what makes it good. Of course you need a good composition and notes for a good melody. But effects can make a good melody less boring. |

Don't make one.
Keep evolving the rythm and the bassline. You will evetually come up with something. |

don't make a melody just cause you think you're supposed to..
If you have a number of layers of rhythm, you will find it is also a melody.. |

nice idea...
But i nead a fast lead or smt..
it gets annoying editing samples and messing hours with the rythm.. only to find the track missing something... :(

cool...lately i have been trying making a melodie in half of the tempo it's been working nice...
but yeah trying to make it go with the bassline and kick...and rolls i tried it at 146 and it's hauling ass , but yea i am working in the CS6X and it's letting me quick edit all of it i have been playing with cut off times and so on..how do you guys layout a track when you start?
just to get some ideas...Later |

Thanks guys..those are good tips to have on the mind,in this track we sampled "what we do in life,Echoes and eternity" from Gladiator,
with the bassline kicking and an i would say "infected kick" playing...so i was looking to add a Victory kind of melodie - |
