i´m going to australia this year and i wanna know where u have more parties...
near sidney or near melbourne?

Melbourne by a long way.
There is a much smaller scene in Sydney and the parties that i've been to there dont have the same feel as the melbourne ones. In melbourne during summer there are parties on most weeks with a few big festivals throughout. My suggestion go to melbourne with a side trip up to byron bay at some stage.
The melbourne scene is alive and kicking ... about 4,000 people at a festival last weekend... unlikely to ever get that figure in sydney. |

DEFINATELY melbourne.
Dont bother about Sydney if psy is your thing, as Dave said, spend most of your time in melbourne and go up to the rainforests in northern nsw - crazy parties up there!

Hi, being from Sydney, i can say the parties do have a good vibe here and we have some good local crews doing a fantastic job - but the guys are right the parties are smaller in comparison to Melbourne. If I were you I would go to Melbourne  . |

I just came all across Oz... West - East...... North - South.... and the Melbourne area for me has the scene (if you are a bit fussy about your music like i am  )
... there are beautiful locations up the North end, and some wicked vibes at the parties... but for every DJ that plays PsyTrance (DJ POP from Lismore is a Twisted, Funky PsyTrance specialist).. you gotta get through 2 or 3 DJs that dont play Trance (and up Byron Way you will be continually exposed to Mr Nik Taylor and his 'Trash Disco thing' (Trash being the operative word here))...
....So my advice to you arantes420, is to head South....

yeh nuthin wrong wit parties in Sydney they still have a very rocking scene with something happening practically every weekend..
but yeh, Melbs is where it's pretty much at 
Try to make your trip in the summer tho as winter is when it turns into "squeezed into smokey club" season

For a decent event guide, mostly Melbs but orientated around Aus, check out oztrance.com
Heaps of useful links in there and the monkeys are a great bunch of folks
Australiens.net forums are more Sydney orientated but has got a lot of party pics if ya just wanna have a look at what's been going on there |

for sure melbourne!!!! especially now that the sun is on its way, and the season is about to start!!!! we are all in summer bush party mode already..... bring it on! |
