I wonder, if it's a good idea to have a MC-303 and use it mainly as a controller for my beats in Cubase.
I hate it so much, clicking the notes with the mouse! |

Its not much better on those small key pads.
Bear in mind that you will not be able to assign a CC to the knobs. |

djones if you're cheap, try midi yoke or kb2midi. It will turn your computer keyboard into a cheap midi keyboard, without velocity nor aftertouch.
both you'll find in google.
or just safe up some money and get a real midi controller, you won't regret it.
I can recommend the novation sl, edirol or m-audio. Myself I got an evolution mk-225c, which is pretty shit, but it will do the trick. Yeah I know it looks shit, but it's looking quite okay when I place it ontop of the korg c-3500 my parents bought me when I was 13 years old.
Koalakube is right, the mc-303 isn't able to fetch cc's from your midi learn enable vst's. So it's pretty useless.

I have a midi keyboard and a digital Piano already, but that's not the problem.
Why I thought something like a 303 would be cool, is because I thought the 303 came with a 16 step keyboard for easy aranging drum parts, but now I think of it. it might just be like a garbace keyboard. |

I know that M-Audio has made the "Trigger Finger"-controller which uses that kind og Akai-like midi-pads, and I think that Behringer have made something similar to it, too.
Check it out if it sounds interresting..
